Swimming in Citra. Pint from the Blue Blazer in Edinburgh. Loads of hops without a palpable bitter after. Excellent cask ale altogether. Good job.

Cask at cloisters. Dark orange amber, medium white head that sticks around. Gorgeous fresh, juicy orange peel hop nose. Like dunking your face into a bag of hops. Body is surprisingly sweet. Lots of orange, sort of marmalade. But what disappoints me is the lack of mouth-destroying bitternness that should follow. A perfectly nice beer, but for an American IPA, not hoppy enough.

Cask-conditioned at Cloisters, Edinburgh 7/06/2011. Amber with a billowy white head. Big, grapefruit, gooseberry and peach notes with some balancing sweetish malts and lingering dry finish. Excellent.

On cask at Cloisters. Dark orange beer with a thin white head. Sweet, floral nose. The mouthfeel is resinous with plenty of citrusy hop flavour. Not overly bitter. Nice beer although I prefer the Oakhams single hop citra.

[cask at Caley Sample Rooms, Edinburgh] Bronze pour with a decent white head. Strong fruit aromas with a malt edge on the nose. Orangey from the Citra hop. On the taste, sweet and quite oily. Strong fruit flavour, orange with some ripe mango. Rich mouthfeel. Bittersweet finish with a fruity edge

22 April 2011, cask. dark yellow, faint haze, no bubbles. nice citra hop nose. lemon peel and grassy bitterness. session ale malt background. creamy, watery and faintly fizzy. feels like a session ale. White grapefruit bitter hop taste w/ dry, bitter finish. i like citra hops but i think they need some more alcohol or more lalt sweetness to balance them a bit. this is an american style i[pa so hops are bigger, but tbh, in american IPAs it’s go big or go home. this one goes home.
