Cask at Urban Tap House, Cardiff. Pleasant stout with hints of smoke, chocolate and coffee but a bit of a watery palate leaves it somewhat disappointing.

This beer starts off nutty & chocolatey but quickly becomes flat & watery - it could do with doubling up on the malt bill. Rated by BrewTom

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 11 Apr 2014) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted oats and dark fruit. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, caramel, dried fruit, coffee and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced stout. Very nice.

Cask at Cask Pimlico. Black, bubbly beige head, lacing doesn’t hang around. Aroma - light malty…not much going on. Body - medium, soft and smooth, low carbonation. Taste - watery, chocolate, slightly hoppy, ashy finish. Nice.

Cask at the Caley Sample Room. Dec 12. Pours dark brown, near black, thick beige head. Strong roasted aromas, light chocolate. More on the taste, coffee, ash, some nuttiness. Clean finish. Not bad.

Cask @ NWAF, Derby. Very dark brown, almost black. Opaque. Malty, nutty, slightly sour aroma. Sweet, easy, malty taste, somewhat less complex than promised by the aroma. Undemanding, refreshing stout.

Pivni 26 Jan 13. Svart. Lavt - litt farget skum. Svak kaffe / lakrisaroma. Smaken har et visst røykpreg. Litt kaffe & sjokolade i ettersmaken.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 13/06/13. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head. Nose is roast malt, light coffee, touch of chocolate. Taste comprises light roast, oats, toffee, dark malts, blackcurrant, light coffee notes, hint of liqourice. Medium bodied with fine carbonation lending towards a dry finish. Decent enough stout.

Cask from Cask Pub & Kitchen. Pours dark brown with a small, very firm beige head and great lacing. Heavy ash and burnt notes with roast and espresso. Smells good. Light vanilla and coffee in the taste. Reminds me of an iced coffee from back home. Some light roast behind it all. Thin mouth feel but I guess that comes with the ABV. Solid stuff for a low alcohol beer
