Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. Bright clear amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Sweet and slightly skewed malt, toffee, dried fruits and candy fruits. Malt cream. The individual components are okay but overall it doesn’t hang together. A bit of a sweet mess. I thought Tempest were beyond this point now. Disappointing!

Keg at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, dark gold with a rich, creamy head. Sugary citrus nose, orange. Medium sweet flavor, some spicy bitterness, ripe citrus, a bit of creamy bread, ginger, tangerine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, some sticky sugars, light caramel, spicy hops, ginger essence. Interesting, nice.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkwnwell, 13/04/13. Hazed dark amber with a thinnish beige head that retains well as a film and edgeing. Nose is dark malt, hops, fruits, sugars, light soapy notes. Taste comprises brown sugars, hops, tangy tropical fruit, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with hop bitterness. Decent.

Keg at the Anderson, Fortrose. It pours deep amber, with a thin white head. The nose is wood, rye, sweet orange, prune, date and raisin. The taste is rye, spice, brown bread, underlying caramel, nut, raisin, grape, resin, some alcohol warmth and citrus notes, with a deliciously bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and well balanced. The world of pain that was involved in making this was worth it!

On keg at the Barley Mow, Bristol 18/5/2013. reddish amber with a slight, white head. Sweet red berries, orange peel, and caramel with a hint of pine and green herb. Not much character for such a high ABV beer.

Keg @ CBC Clerkenwell. As warm up to the glorious celebration of my birth. The pour’s deep amber with a tiny head. The aroma’s of zesty orange citrus. Some sweet cotton candy. Light caramel malts. Sugar cookies. The taste is raspberry tart, a bit of tropical cantaloupe and orange. Slightly grainy body. Toasty malts. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, a solid balanced effort.

Keg @ BrewDog. Dark red brown colour, not much head. Mild hop aroma. Dry fruity hop flavour. Flowery fruity aftertaste. An unusual light fruity IPA.

On keg at The BrewDog Bar. Pours a dark golden colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with decent bitterness. Moderate carbonation, light CO2 prickle and an oily mouth-feel. Lovely.

Mid amber Brown, crisp white head, fine carbonation. Resinous nose, sweet malt and mango and a lot of dry vegetal bitterness. Fruity bitter finish.
