dwyerpg (2032), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 10, 2008 On nitro at the brewhouse. Wife had it, I didn’t like it. Creamy, but with a funkiness to it that I couldn’t hardly drink. Almost like it has those brettanomyces or however you spell that in it, which usually makes me feel sick. Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Jan 1, 2008 Consumed on draft at brewery, 12/30/07. Served on nitro, resulting in a typically luxurious head. Color is - surprise! amber. Creamy on the palate, again thanks to the nitro. No aroma to speak of. Sweet and malty initially with a nice citrus kick at the end. No hop bitterness to go with the lemons/oranges, though. I like ambers that are more about malt than bitterness; this is what I’m talking about. jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 1, 2008 on nitro-pours a rich retaining tan head and amber color. Aroma is citrus, some medium malt. Taste is citrus/earthy/metallic bitter hops, medium malt. pint_size (1004), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 31, 2007 12-1-07 tap.
Clear amber color with great head (thanks to the nitro). The nitro helps add the creamy texture - but unfortunately it doesnt help the flavor, or lack thereof. Just not great. No flavor. Palate, although it is creamier than their other brews - it still isnt that great and it is slightly watery and weak. BelgianBeerGal (882), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Dec 11, 2007 Draught at the brewery. Don’t really understand the need for nitro honestly. Didn’t really show the "activity" of a nitro Guinness for example. Still an okay beer though. Slight hops in the aroma and the flavour. Enjoyable. Marketed as "American Amber" at the brewery.
