Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Jan 1, 2008 Consumed on draft at brewery, 12/30/07. Cloudy, light yellow. No active bubbles, small ring of foam for a head. Aroma is clove and... maybe vanilla? Flavor is sweet with cloves and lemongrass and a touch of black pepper. The waitress compared it to Blue Moon to help me understand what the beer would tatse like. I smiled and thanked her. I think I would compare it more to Hoegarden, but only superficially. Well exectued and the alcohol content is very deceptive. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 1, 2008 on tap-pours a disappearing white head and slightly hazy pale yellow color. Aroma is perfumy, sweet, vanilla? Taste is perfumy, yeast, sweet, spices, vanilla?, some alcohol. pint_size (1004), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 31, 2007 12-1-07 tap.
Has hints of the Belgian "trashy" yeast - but very light. Light yellow with a hint of cloudiness to it. Surprisingly flavorless for a tripel. I am not a fan of this style and this seems to be quite a weak representative of it. BelgianBeerGal (895), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Dec 11, 2007 Draught at the brewery. Not a characteristic trippel but still an enjoyable beer. Appearance: think hefeweizen with a medium white head. Aroma was yeasty dominance with a crisp fruit background. Flavour was uncharacteristically sweet and fruity instead of spice. Pleasant beer but not quite a trippel. I’m rating it based on my appreciation and not necessarily its "trippel" character. lb4lb (1377), Austin, Texas, USA Dec 6, 2007 Clear faint yellow pour. Typical belgian yeast smell with fruity notes that I find more like rancid fruit. More strongly flavored than their other beers, but still thin in body. Sharp lasting yeast flavor. Not my style of beer, nor a particularly great example I think.
