COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hauling oats is hard work. Donkeys are motivated by carrots. Here at Tenaya Creek we are motivated by beer. Especially when it has the subtle aroma of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.
It is easy to forget about the long journey ahead when a dark ale with a golden tan head is in hand. So drop the reins, pry open the lid and enjoy the rounded, smooth pull. Take a breath and savor the notes of semi-sweet chocolate and hearty oats.
Your donkey deserves a reward for all its hard work
- just don’t share this treat! ABV: 5.7%

Bottle (22 oz) shared at tasting. Thanks to dresden for this State tick. Black with a small beige head, ok retention, leaving little lacing. Flavors of roasted malts, oatmeal, vanilla notes, mild chocolate presence and mild mineral presence. Taste is medium sweet with a mild chocolate bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonnation. Silky mouthfeel. Roasty and vanilla finish. Average Sweet Stout. Not overly sweet but still not enough flavors to balance it. Decent silky mouthfeel. Ok.

Draft to shorty at Yardhouse Vegas pour opaque dark brown with moderate tan head. Nose roasted malt, anise, and slight green /weedy. Not sure where that last part is coming from. Taste roasted malt, chocolate, mocha latte and dark fruit. Smooth mouth feel.

Pours black with a frothy brown head. Aroma is oats, light chocolate and roast. Taste is much the same. Not terribly rich or huge but lots of oats. It really is one of the better oat stouts that I’ve had.

Clean, coffee & oatmeal aroma. Smooth on the palate, with chocolate, coffee, and roasted oats. Very creamy and smooth drinking, especially when on a nitro tap. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a tan head. Aroma of oatmeal, roasted malt, coffee and bit of chocolate. Taste follows with roasted malt, coffee, oatmeal, with a bit of dark chocolate. Coffee bitterness that lingers into the finish. Fairly full body, a bit of oatmeal grittiness for character. Not really what I consider a sweet stout but still pretty decent stout.

Rating #1449 - 22.01.2015 - Bottle from Coop. Older bottle. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly foamy tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is oaty and thick, almost sludgy, not really creamy on the mouth feel, but layered with hints of earth and molasses. I was looking for more creaminess in terms of mouthfeel, more cocoa, and more bitterness. But maybe I’m OUT OF TOUCH
