3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep velvet brown/cola. A moderate pour produces a wonderful tan head that sticks around (lacing). It looks nearly perfect. Present are complex aromas of: caramel, bread, hay, cereal, chocolate, coffee, nuts, some floral hops, some cheese, some masked alcohol, and a little clove. The taste is fairly balanced with a burst of sweet/sour giving way to bitterness and then salt/umami. It actually has a lighter body than I prefer for this style, itís watery. Soft bitter finish. Itís a good beer but the watery mouth feel combined with a metallic presence throughout (even the aroma) holds it back.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
a solid stout Iíd score higher if not for an ever so slight vegetal quality on the palate. Otherwise smooth, with nice lightly burnt roast and hints of chocolate and coffee. medium bodied.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at the Tenaya Creek, Las Vegas, NV. Black colour with a small tan head. Coffee, bitterness, roasted malt and dryness in the aroma. The flavour is roasted malt, dry ash and mild bitterness. The coffee is not that present in the flavour. I like that.
