COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using Pale, Caramel, Chocolate, Roast, Victory and Black Malts we obtained a beautifully massive black beer with an off-white head. With a thick, stick to your tongue body and espresso and mocha flavors, this Imperial Stout is surprisingly easy drinking. The body is balanced with a malty sweet finish and high amount of bitterness obtained from Magnum Hops.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts, some coffee notes, light toffee and caramel sweetness, and some light bitterness. Flavor the same with a little too much sweetness and a very tiny off note. Average to smoother texture. A decent beer but not the best of the style at all.

Tenaya Creek Imperial Stout Aroma: 8/10. Complex! Malt, molasses, treacle, with slight overtones of citrus and pine from the hops. Appearance: 5/5. Beautiful black as ink pour with a lingering dark brown head. Taste: 9/10. Sweet chocolate syrupy sweet with bitter notes of coffee, cocoa, molasses, and honey. Lingering finish of dark chocolate cocoa bitterness. Palate: 4/5. Generous mouthfeel with an interesting frothyness on the tongue leant by the high-protein head. Really very nice, but one point deducted for the harshness of the cocoa finish. Could do with a little more restraint there. Overall: 18/20. Its a great beer. Rich in chocolate sweetness and lingering, long cocoa powder bitterness. Definitely one Ill keep my eye out for again. Its not the most complex imp stout out there, but it excels in being very strong at what it does present!

Very large dark brown head of medium sized bubbles. Rocky and creamy on top. Nice chocolatey malts with some brown sugar, roasted grains, mild coffee and some prunes. Color is basically black. Lively in the mouth. Very rich and a tad sweet. That being said, lots of flavor and very tasty. More roasted grains, chocolate, sweet malts and some licorice. Noticable alcohol presence and warming. Finishes creamy and roasty and chocolatey. A damn good impy!

Sampled at Boises Imperial Stout get together, over 120 bottles to choose from. Going with the flow on this rating. This was one of my contributions to the event.

Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted dark chocolate aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark chocolate malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

Aroma is a rich maltiness, quite sweet with some slight bitterness. Taste matches aroma for the most part . Some molasses and chocolate picked up aswell. Taste is quite smooth with a bitter finish. Appearance is a dark black body with a brown head that retains well.

Bottle to pint glass Chocolate, soy, lots of toasted malt. Jet black with a huge, but short lived foamy brown head. Taste is chocolate, soy, and very malty. Nicely done.

Bomber to snifter (thanks DuffMan!). Bottled on 11/7/13. Looks good; an opaque dark brownish black with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, tobacco, and chocolate with mild roast and a hint of cherry cordial as well. Tastes like it smells, minus the tobacco, with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Good beer!

Bomber, pours thick black with bubbly tan head. Roasty scent. Taste features a big roasty character, dark malt with bitter hops, coffee, and chocolate. Smooth finish. Overall a pretty heavy and bitter impy, decent to sip on.
