4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
ThIs was from a 22 oz bottle. After prying off the wax it poured near black with a big tan head. Light lacing. The nose is a blast of chocolate. As it warms a bit dark ripe fruit and some hops arrive. The body is medium to bold. The mouthfeel is rich and creamy with a touch of alcohol. The flavor starts with chocolate, and the ripe fruit and hops come quickly in afterwards. As the beer warms the beer become more balanced. The finish shows some bitterness. This is a really tasty beer. Almost like a blend of Imperial Stout and DIPA. Great brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Opened at 49F. White wax that was a challenge to remove. This pours thick and black and has a nice thick tan head. Like an impy stout should. Not really any lacing remains from the head until the glass is tipped to drink. First sip is chocolate but soon hops almost dominate. Citrus and sulfur with fairly big bitterness. This seems to be a mix of an imperial stout and a double IPA. Roasted notes were steadfast and there is just a bit of tobacco here. By the finish the hops have faded some. The chocolate stayed solid and some dark fruit came out. The last sip was full of citrus hops. Because of the big hop profile this was a unique imperial stout. When you think of an imperial stout one word that does not come to mind is balance. This is actually well balanced between the huge malts and the hops.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared at a local tasting, pours black with a light brown head, the aroma has a good amount of roast and chocolate, the flavor has a dry chocolate front end with some roast and caramel in the finish, not a sweet bomb by any means but still tasty, not bad.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle with my wife at the In-laws. Pour is dark black with a small brown head and decent lacing. Big cocoa, roasty, cocoa nibs, vanilla, graham crackers, and bready aroma. Taste is big earthy malt, chocolate, light espresso, molasses, tar, brown sugar, and roast. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Damn decent imperial stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle marked as from 12/12/12. Pours with a black hued body with a nicely retentive brown head. Aromas are of brown sugar, prunes, chocolate, ash, char and dark fruit. Flavors are ashy, dark fruit, chocolate. Astringent roast character. Harshly roasty, yet overall it is okay. Medium bitterness, fuller body, creamy carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This was rich and complex stout. The smell was like spent coffee beans, caramel and dark chocolate. It had nice flavors of cocoa, molasses, more caramel and roast with a bold dark chocolate finish. Nice stuff, and thank you Markwise for sharing!

Thanks, Markwise, for bringing this one. Aroma is big roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses, and coffee notes. Pour is super dark with a tan head. Flavor is all chocolate and roast/coffee. Bold flavors, oily palate. Nice stuff!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
White waxed 22oz bomber pours with a deep dark body with mahogany edges and supporting a nice looking mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up malt sweetness enhanced dark roasted malts, some chocolate and a bit of sweet dark fruit ester notes. The aroma improves as it warms. The taste starts with a sweet malt note mixing with dark roasted malts, some sweet dark fruity ester goodness and chocolate. It gets more roasty to midway and into the finish where a booziness surfaces beyond what one might expect from a 9.3% Imperial Stout. But booziness is part of the style in my opinion. Although it is a bit thin in body too I really dig this stuff.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle; poured a very dark brown/black with a big brown head. Aroma of ripe fruit and caramel, with some roasted, coffee, and earthy notes. Some wood and soy sauce. Only a hint of sweetness. Alcohol subdued. Flavor was fairly pronounced; with a strong roasted and earthy bitterness. Alcohol is subdued, but present. Would have liked some sweetness and more caramel to subdue the powerful roasted presence. Flavor did linger. A solid beer, but lacking in complexity compared to other of the style.
