Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a mostly clear dark amber-brown color with a thin and creamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Small strings of lace on the glass. The aroma is nutty and malty with a hint of hops. Medium, smooth body with sweet malt, nut and mild chocolate flavors. Hints of hops show up as well. The finish is sweet with a lingering malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Consumed on draft at brewery, 12/30/07. Russet, clear. Virtually no head or lacing. Aroma is nil. Nutty, grainy flavor that fades fast. No astringency, no bitterness. A better Newcastle, but simple and unremarkable.

on tap-pours a dissipating off white head and mahogany color. Aroma is mild medium malt-nutty. Taste is medium malt-nutty/chocolate, slightly bitter hops-citrus/earthy. OK carbonation.

Thin clear brown color. Roasted caramel hints in the aroma. Nutty flavor. Actually fairly decent. Thin and watery palate. One of their better brews, decent and easy to drink.

Medium brown to dark amber colored pour. Smell was nicely toasty cocoa, some coffe and malt. Taste was of watered down sticky malt sweetness. Thin body, with a nice cocoa nuttiness and coffee notes to it. Would be pretty nice with more body.
