COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those not familiar with a Barleywine, it is a Strong Ale, originally brewed in England in the nineteenth century but is now brewed worldwide. The name Barleywine basically means that it is a beer as strong as wine. Guaranteed to warm you up on a cold evening! Brewed using premium 2-Row, CaraRed, Crystal, Carafoam, and Wheat malts. We also used Magnum, Cascade, Summit, and CTZ hops. Cheers!

22oz bottle from 01/30/14. Purchased at Pub 1842 in MGM Grand for $15. Aroma has some hints of ethanol retronasally. Lots of malts with light roast, caramel, nuts. A bit vinous, too. Transparent ruddy amber body with a smallish off-white head present. Starts with a fairly bitter and herbal and earthy hop flavor. Becomes a bit sticky in the middle with heavy chewy caramel. Finishes with a little bitter ethanol and hop flavoring. Decent.

"pretty much everything youíd expect from a prototype american barleywine, and nothing you donít. huge caramel malts and a healthy dose of hops. big bodied. a little bit of a palate wrecker. pretty good, but also does little to stand out from a loaded field."

Bomber released 3/25/12, drank on 5/17/14. I never had this beer fresh, but it is very mellow after 2 years in the cellar. Toffee and sweetbreads in the aroma, it pours a rich mahogany opaque color, with a tan persistent head. The aroma has a light punch, but it softens quickly into alcoholic warmth. Aftertaste is light and long. Very well done for the style, Iím a fan

Bomber I picked up at Lee?s Discount Liqours E Flamingo. Nose is spicy, hoppy floral and tropical fruits, and toffee. Crystal clear rusty red with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter lightly sweet fruity and toffee. Pretty tasty with a lot of DIPA characteristics.

Pours a reddish dark brown with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruits, molasses, raisins, sweet toffee and caramel, and some light alcohol. Taste is sweet malts, toffee, dark fruits, burnt caramel, molasses, raisins, bread pudding, light grassy hops, and some light booze. Has a medium full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter, medium-long, slightly warming finish. Overall, a pretty tasty barleywine.
