For those not familiar with a Barleywine, it is a Strong Ale, originally brewed in England in the nineteenth century but is now brewed worldwide. The name Barleywine basically means that it is a beer as strong as wine. Guaranteed to warm you up on a cold evening! Brewed using premium 2-Row, CaraRed, Crystal, Carafoam, and Wheat malts. We also used Magnum, Cascade, Summit, and CTZ hops. Cheers!

Bomber I picked up at Lee?s Discount Liqours E Flamingo. Nose is spicy, hoppy floral and tropical fruits, and toffee. Crystal clear rusty red with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter lightly sweet fruity and toffee. Pretty tasty with a lot of DIPA characteristics.

Pours a reddish dark brown with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruits, molasses, raisins, sweet toffee and caramel, and some light alcohol. Taste is sweet malts, toffee, dark fruits, burnt caramel, molasses, raisins, bread pudding, light grassy hops, and some light booze. Has a medium full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a slightly bitter, medium-long, slightly warming finish. Overall, a pretty tasty barleywine.

Thanks kathouse for this beauty. Pours a deep caramel color with white head. Big malty corn syrup aromas. Honey too. Flavors are very sweet. Honey, brown sugar, corn syrup. Nice hoppy bitterness on the finish. Coats the palate nicely. Great stuff.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a moderate off white head on it. Nose is a little sweet and filled with just a bit of grains, with a hint of some whiskey in there. Taste is little sweet and heavy, and ever so slightly boozy.

Bottle to glass. 9 months old. Pours a murky deep amber color with a light brown head. Powerful aroma with tons of malts, vanilla, bourbon, sweet. Taste is a heavy malty syrupy sweetness and a nice boozy finish. Solid barley wine.

Dark ruby/amber with a half finger of creamy, mocha head that slowly dissipates. Moderate carbonation with a lot of lacing. Nose is delicious. Very sweet and malty. A lot of plum, cherry, raisin, caramel and a slight alcohol presence. Mouth is very complex. A ton of malt and caramel with a little bit of roast. A lot of bitter cherries, sweet plums and sticky raisin. Decent amount of bitterness that lingers and mixes with a very slight alcohol burn. Very pleasing!

Nice sweet/caramel and subtle bready malt character. Low bitterness relative to Barleywines.
