COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those not familiar with a Barleywine, it is a Strong Ale, originally brewed in England in the nineteenth century but is now brewed worldwide. The name Barleywine basically means that it is a beer as strong as wine. Guaranteed to warm you up on a cold evening! Brewed using premium 2-Row, CaraRed, Crystal, Carafoam, and Wheat malts. We also used Magnum, Cascade, Summit, and CTZ hops. Cheers!

DYCSoccer17 (3499) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 23, 2014
22oz bottle from 01/30/14. Purchased at Pub 1842 in MGM Grand for $15. Aroma has some hints of ethanol retronasally. Lots of malts with light roast, caramel, nuts. A bit vinous, too. Transparent ruddy amber body with a smallish off-white head present. Starts with a fairly bitter and herbal and earthy hop flavor. Becomes a bit sticky in the middle with heavy chewy caramel. Finishes with a little bitter ethanol and hop flavoring. Decent.

"pretty much everything you’d expect from a prototype american barleywine, and nothing you don’t. huge caramel malts and a healthy dose of hops. big bodied. a little bit of a palate wrecker. pretty good, but also does little to stand out from a loaded field."

22 oz bottle, 4/2/13. Just clear amber brown with beige froth and clingy wet lace. Nose is caramel, apricot, baked apple and nutmeg. Silky medium body with soft sexy carb. Taste is caramel, rum, banana and raisin finishing with bitter grass and citrus pith. Fruity then hoppy; solid.

Bomber released 3/25/12, drank on 5/17/14. I never had this beer fresh, but it is very mellow after 2 years in the cellar. Toffee and sweetbreads in the aroma, it pours a rich mahogany opaque color, with a tan persistent head. The aroma has a light punch, but it softens quickly into alcoholic warmth. Aftertaste is light and long. Very well done for the style, I’m a fan
