COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those not familiar with a Barleywine, it is a Strong Ale, originally brewed in England in the nineteenth century but is now brewed worldwide. The name Barleywine basically means that it is a beer as strong as wine. Guaranteed to warm you up on a cold evening! Brewed using premium 2-Row, CaraRed, Crystal, Carafoam, and Wheat malts. We also used Magnum, Cascade, Summit, and CTZ hops. Cheers!

Classic barleywine smell, good sweet, alcohol smell, brownish/gold appearance, one finger head, great sweet/bitter combo taste, almost a honey taste to it. This is a great barley, will taste even better aged.

Pour is a murky copper with a large white head. Aroma is caramel, sugar and toffee with a surprise of fresh pine hops. This was bottled 1/2015 so after a year and a half the hops still shine. Flavor is dried fruit with a strong sweetness. After the swallow I get a toffee and earthy, leathery malt. The hops in the aroma don’t really come out in the flavor, this is more about the heavy malt and fermentable sugars, I do get a bit of alcohol burn but it is minor. Pretty solid barley wine.

Amber-copper color with a white head. Sticky malty sweet taste with a slight hop character that hits the sides of the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Released Jan 30, 2014. Strong head for a barleywine. About 3/4 of an inch thick of light beigh foam and varying sized bubbles. Rich malty aroma with lots of toffee, caramel, roasted grains and strong , sweet malts. Just like a great barleywine should smell. Color is a cloudy dark mahagony brown. Body is loaded with malts. Sweet caramel, toasted almonds, licorice and a decent amount of hoppy bitterness. Strong alcohol presence which is fine for a brew with this much body and flavor. Finishes lingering malts and floral bitterness. A great barleywine. Bought this on a trip out to visit my dad in Tucson in april 2014. Looks like this brew aged magnificently. Just wish this would make it out to the east coast! Fantastic!

Rich caramel and toffee along with dried red apples and herbal/resiny hop bitterness. Faint burnt sugar and wood along with a slap of fruitcake. Brash aggressive alcohol snaps at the palate and kept this from becoming cloy. Get rid of that Summit character and this would be a 4+ for me... Still a tasty treat, bottled in January of 2014.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with a fizzy ring of off white head. Aroma and taste of caramel, toasted malts, bit of booze.

Appearance: clear copper, with a short, fizzy, light tan head. Aroma: caramel, toasted brown bread, fermented honey, vanilla, lemon soap, resin, grapefruit. Taste: sweet caramel malts, fruitcake, raisin, vanilla, brown sugar, light pine, hint of burnt wood. Finish: lasting malty sweetness, with a slightly astringent hop note at the very back. Notes: I’m not a huge barleywine fan, but this was really good. Malt-dominant, and alcohol was very well hidden. Palate was full but not overly thick. Bottle from Sarah for Beerthday 2015.

Bottle @ Ølkonsortiets sommerfest. Pours amber with a beige head. Some floaters in there. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, oxidized notes, wood and dark fruits. Taste has weak hops a fair amount of tannins, wood, caramel and butterscotch.

Draught at the Tenaya Creek, Las Vegas, NV. Clear amber colour with a small white head. Strong dried fruits, fruity sweetness, mild bitterness, sugar and malt in the aroma. Not bad. The flavour is super sweet and strong. Warms a lot... almost burns. Dried fruits, sugar, bitterness, hops and malt. Nice one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
