COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by an original recipe created by Hugh Tennent in 1885 and brewed using malted barley, water and hops in the heart of Glasgow. Itís about as local as export lagers get.

330ml bottle from A Tutta Birra, Milan. This beer is brewed 3 miles from my home but this is the first time I have seen it. Amber yellow colour, big foamy head. Corn resin malt aroma. Biscuit corn & vanilla flavour. Quite smooth for a lager. Sweet aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Picked this up just because it had reduced price. Didnít expect much of it but itís a decent lager. No off-taste or aroma in any way. Itís a clean, easy drinking beer, a good example of well done lager.

Can 500ml from Parkhill cellars. A bit bland, but I had worse. Aromas of citrus, hay, and a hint of caramel. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness. Palate is oily, and medium bodied. Yellow, with a thin head.

Refreshing typical pale lager with balanced bitterness. Steep discouraging price.

Bottled 0,33L. Golden yellow color, medium ehad resistance, nearly no bubbly presence. Malty and dried grassy and alcoholic nose. Poor taste, medium prickly body, a little watery with notes of dampen grains and hay. Excessive bitter perception for this style.

33cl bottle, 5%. Yellow color, standard white head. Lagery nose. Aroma is grainy, strawy hops. Taste is flat, metallic bitterness in the finish, body is light, carbonated. Simple lager, somewhat dull. Average green bottle stuff.

330ml green bottle from an offie in Rome. Pretty much free. As íTennentís 1885 Lagerí, 5%, BB Aug 2016. Birra Scozzese. Seems to be brewed solely for the Italian market. Pale orange, clear, lightly sparkling, small scummy off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is sweet pastry - custard slice, cornflakes. Body is light yet fills the mouth with foam, tingly carbonation. Taste is tonic water, light metallics, very pale malt, light sugar. Not much taste. Not unpleasant at all - just very light. Too fizzy on the stomach.

Bottle 330ml.
Clear light to light medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, hay - grass, cabbage water, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090408]

This is a lite beer, with a med white head. The hop note is very light, but over all not a bad beer.
