Tight hop fragrance and solid lager body with sterling white head. Initially unimpressive taste, slight drip of kiwi and dryness on the palate, with a slightly up-market finish to a pissy lager.

They’ve taken a very suppable standard grade lager and added more biscuit, fairly hungry finish that takes away all the quench and simplicity. I can see why they’ve gone to the bother, but I won’t bother again.

Bottle, House Party Favours, Edinburgh

Can. A bright white head tops a medium gold colored body. This has a grainy and meaty nose with some pear hints. This tastes fairly dry like hay with some raw grain. There is also some bread crust. Actually this is interesting with just enough going on to keep it drinkable. Pleasant and clean.

Aroma is sweetish/grainy malts, beery and a hint of a chemical/off element. The flavor is mildly sweet malts, fruit/cider and a mildly tart finish.

Ok beer given to me by my bro in law. It’s another lager In which you’d expect beer. Wasn’t a big fan of the aftertaste the beer left in my mouth but sure if I drank enough of them it would grow on me.

Served on tap in a pint glass. Arrived a clear medium bold with a smallish white head but with excellent lacing. Aroma of straw, hay, and some bread. Pretty typical of a Euro pale lager. The flavor is much like the aroma with bread and grassy noble hops. Bitterness is higher than many Euro lagers or AAL’s but it tends to get a little harsh and doesn’t meld well with the other flavors. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, and refreshing. Overall, a good thirst quencher but that’s about it. Decent flavor but nothing really special.

Looks like "beer". Tastes like "beer". It’s a typical working man’s brew. Slightly maltier than north american macro but just as boring.

500 ml can. Straw yellow color without much of a head to speak of. Light grain and dough aroma. Flavor is doughy malt with a bit of sweetness and earthy grains. Little carbonation and light to medium bodied on the palate. It’s a pretty non-descript beer overall but certainly not offensive. Can’t remember what I paid for a pack of these but it might be a good everyday beer.

Test vom 4.10.2006, Gebinde: Dose Noten: 12,10,12,9,-,9 - 9,94

Lightly bready and floral aromas. Darker yellow color, initially very heady but stills out pretty quick. Sweet corn flavor, some metallic elements, stewed malty flavor. Reminds me of the Dutch lager Oranjeboom I tried: relative discount lager that feels malt heavy and industrial rather than the hop stressing light Euro-lagers. This one is a bit more crisp, with bite based on booze more than hops. A better than average bottom dweller.

From bottle - actually like it - more of a rounder mouthfeel than Tennents Lager and perfectly chuggable
