Go to your nearest park. Find a bench. See the gentleman lying on it? He’s a Super Strong man. I once helped make a documentry in which a street musican/tramp memorably said (in a think Glaswigien accent): ’Special Brew Ye bast’ad, yer ruin’ ma life’. Thats not what I’d call a ringing endorsement.

Embrouille (2829) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 13, 2008
Canned 50cl. It pours a deep golden beer with a white head. The nose is metallic, malty with hints of whisky, onions, caramel and alcohol. The taste is metallic, syrupy, alcoholic with hints of onions. Very aggressive. Good lacing. Some fennel showing up. Unpleasant finish.

Can (500ml). I had to laugh at the label on this one, “please drink responsibly” its 9% and 3.6 (aus) standard drinks with a wide mouth for sculling purposes. Poured a golden orange with an off-white, dense frothy head which lasted well. Aroma was of honey, cornish malts, faint lemon with metallic notes and sulfur notes. Flavor was awful and very metallic, with alcohol, sweet cornish malts and sugar. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation, a watery texture, metallic mouthfeel and a short finish. Not as bad as the Skol super that’s for sure.

Maria (10169) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2008
This strong beer has a golden color and a moderate head. The aroma has notes of malt and hops. The flavour is sweetish, malty with notes of caramel and the finish has a light bitterness. The alcohol flavour is too dominant - and it’s a plain and boring beer.

It has a spewy fruity harshness with some grainy content to try to balance the formaldehide-like flavor out. Alcohol is not well hidden so its good for a buzz.

Bottle. Subtle sweetness behing pils malt flavor is surprisingly good. Balanced caramelesque malts with a chewy palate.
