"Strong Lager"

Following the acquisistion of the Tennents brands from AB InBev by C & C Group, this beer was immediately licensed back, so effectively remains an AB InBev brand.
The current brewing location is unknown - unfortunately, AB InBev doesn’t seem to consider it important to provide consumers with full information on all their brands, or their provenance.

Amber coloured beer with medium white head becoming a little white head soon. Grainy, skunky aroma. Taste is alcohol, sugar and barley malt. I drunk already better ones...

La cosiddetta birra degli ubriaconi... Una strong lager da 9 gradi che di strong ha solo la gradazione, povera di profumi e sapori, scarso equilibrio. ---Rated BY Italianbeer85

Can, bought at a little convenience store in East London that seemed to only stock "super" beer. I wasn’t expecting much and I didn’t get much. Pours a gold colour with a medium but rapidly diminishing bubbly head. Aroma of alcohol and perfumed malt. Metal and sweet malt-like taste. Just what I expected.

Pours a cloudy orange with a decent amount of slowly dissipating head. Heavy grass and alcohol in the nose. Sickly sweet, not masking the alcohol much in the taste. This seems like the ultimate beer you drink just to get drunk.

500ml can. No aroma I can detect. Dark amber with strong head. Overcarbonated. Very yeasty light malty aroma, not much hops. Watery and overly alcoholic. Very short warm finish. Not worth my while.

Stumbled across this in Sicily, as it seems many others have, as this beer is apparently quite popular in Italian bars. Seems to be a popular high ABV brew, cost-efficient I suppose if you're looking for a buzz on the cheap. While not terrible, "Imperial pils" is too generous a title, more of a malt liquor. By malt liquor standards, it's decent, pours an average golden pale color, smells of grainy malt. Medium bodied with lots of carbonation. The taste is grainy, surprisingly some earthy and fruity hoppiness, also an alcoholic boozy tang. Finish is sour and rough, the high ABV is very evident throughout. Still enjoyable in a way, if you don't approach it with high expectations you won't be disappointed.

Not very good at all, but it is strong and grainy... But what do you expect?

Bottle, 33cl. Pours clear golden, with frothy white head. Sweet hops on the nose, with the alcohol evident. Sweetness and alcohol on the palate too, but some yeasty fruit there too. Not as bad as anticipated, though not great.

Alcohol not at all hidden here. Good for a warm-up if you’re outside in freezing temperatures. Golden clear brown yellow pour with frothy white head.
