CBC 2013. Why are people reviewing this as a barleywine? Amber orange pour with a small khaki head. Light citrus, malty aroma, earthy. Malty caramel flavor, light hoppage. Not bad.

Pours a light copper on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave light lacing. Aroma of heavy barley and all malt really. Taste follows, no real hop notes, which is pretty dissapointing for an APA. Thin all around, easy to drink but nothing exciting.

3 ounce sampler at the Grovetoberfest Miami beer festival 10/13/12. Very good!

Not impressed. At brewery. For a hop head this is not what you are looking for. Very light on the hops. Kinda thin at 6 percent it disappoints. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Cigar City. Reddish-amber pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing. The aroma consists of hops and caramel malt. Light to medium body with flavors of zesty citrus, hops and sweet malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Draft at brewpub. Beautiful red-copper. Lace. Aroma of California hop, earthy, mushroom. Clear and lacking in the chewiness i cant stand. Drinkable, sessionable, even. A delightful take on a style that seems, now, retro. Love these guys! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ot really a barley wine. faint malt characteristics. Flavor is slightly sour with bitterness. A touch citris. Lengthy, tannic-bitter, dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This didn’t exactly taste like a barleywine to me. It had faint malt characteristics. Flavor is slightly sour with grapefruit bitterness. A touch citris. Lengthy, tannic-bitter, dry finish.

Appearance: copper under a white head fades into a full collar with splatters of lace. Swirls thick and fluffy.
Nose: lemon and key lime rind and zest and oils. Crackers and whole grains mingle together. Freshly mown grass.
Palate: touch of sweetness underneath and in the middle. Tons of lemon and key lime and cut green grass in the back with rind and oils. Long bitter finish after each swallow.
Final Thoughts: seeing as the Tequesta Gnarly Barley has a different entry than the Corner Café, it was high time that I took notes and reviewed this lovely rendition of Gnarly Barley by my most awesome Matt. Love you and love your beers.

Draft at Carrollwood WOB. Pours a mostly clear copper amber color with a foamy beige head. Medium lacing. Roasted malt and hop aroma. Flavor is nicely hopped with a fair amount of bitterness in the finish.
