Growler courtesy from hopscotch, poured a dark black color with aromas of chocolate, roast, light earth and a touch of lactose. Flavors are the same, a basic imperial stout. Also drank some the next day feom the growler, a little sourness did occur, dont let this one sit over night.

April 25, 2013 - growler from Brian. Dark brown pour with limited head. Roasted malt and chocolate in aroma and taste. Taste was quite sour for this style, not sure if that was indended.

Growler from Brian, reddish brown color with no head. Aromas of some chocolate and has a bit of tart cherry, bit of nice malt. Taste is some chocolate with a big tart cherry and a little malt and earthiness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 BBB63 (5406) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - APR 6, 2013
Flippy growler from Hopscotch and served in a Duvel snifter: basically black with a nice frothy tan head and good lace. The aroma has notes of roast, coffee, tar, tobacco, chocolate, pine, citrus, and some cherry and lactic acid twang/sourness. The taste is actually well balanced with a lactic twang, earthy and sweet malt and just a bit of herbal bitterness. Some coffee and special roast malt notes. The mouth feel is my biggest issue with this brew, for a 10%+ ABV Imperial Stout the feel is not nearly as lush, oily nor sticky as it should be. This is turn makes the alcohol far too pronounced and kills the finish. For the entry level beer dork I am sure they would like this brew but for those of us whom have had many of the greatest Imperial Stouts brewed in the world, we are very critical and will find too many faults.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BVery (4247) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - APR 6, 2013
UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 Growler from Eric - thanks! Gorgeous dense dark brown to black pour with a huge frothy brown head. Sweet nose - vanilla - and maybe slightly sour. Taste is similar but add some mocha elements. Smooth palate. Yummy stuff!
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 GT2 (5657) - Riverslime, California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Tap at Black Squirrel for CBC thanks to drowland! Pours a deeper red ruby looking black. Little to no head. Nose is very sweet grape drank like Fanta. Taste is straight up purple drank, Fanta, big cloying sugar. Very poor. Hard to score Grape Fanta.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 julieimagery (182) - Coconut creek, Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2012
This is one of the best imperial stouts I have because I tend to dislike the heavy coffee and chocolate like stouts. To me this has the aroma of mocha and vanilla. The flavor has some bit of espresso, heavy caramel, a touch of dark chocolate, tobacco, pale malts and molasses. Very sweet, but great.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hopscotch (8212) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 11, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Draft… This beer rocks!... Midnight black ale with a small, creamy, lightly-tanned head. Good retention. Lots of weeping lacework clings to the inside of my glass. The aroma is of rich Cuban mocha and vanilla. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor offers some nice espresso, caramel, dark chocolate, pouch tobacco, pale malts and blackstrap molasses. The lengthy finish is bittersweet and carbonic.
