UPDATED: APR 30, 2013 33cl bottle. Appearance: dark blonde going to amber beer, beige stable head. Nose: oranges, little smoked, peppers, spicy, pear. Taste: peppers, oranges, hops, very spicy, yeast. Re-rate at ’The Great Belgian Beer Dinner’. A 12 year old sample (Experiation date: 05-03 => so brewed may 2001. Appearance: amber, caramel like beer, nice but unstable head. Nose: port, somewhat oxidated though, grass, sugars. Taste: a lot of sugars, lots of port, very sweet in total, alcohol is very prominent. It drinks away like a sweet red wine, and that for a triple.

Nice amber color with medium white cap. Taste not very rich, sour on the top and bitter on the root of tongue. Some sweet notes in middle.

Hefig-aromatischer Geruch, Ananas. Startet herb mit Ananasaroma. Mitte hefig-herb, staubig, holzig. Abgang staubig-bitter und leicht trocken. Fruchtiger Hintergrund. Ok.

flytteøl#2 33cl from beer planet. c,ear orange, smooth offwhite to yellowish orange head. Aroma is dominated by sweet malts, also some belgian (white) caramel, faint yellow fruits (also banana). Not much belgian weirdo-yeast or weirdo-spices, aroma is quite clean , without being industrial. nice. flavor is quite malty, quite sweet, but with a mild spicy and distinct bitter (but not at all flowery) note to it, for balance. A bit boozy perhaps, but a lot nicer than many other european strong malty beers (typically lagers). For a tripel this is very malty, what saves the day is that it is a sort of dry maltiness, not sweet malty - that would’ve been very cloying. If You like malty, You’ll like this one - if not, it will probably not be Your thing. Somewhat well buried under the maltiness You have belgian yeasty spicy notes, and fruity notes.

Dobre i smaczne piwo, tresciwe i w zapachu świeży chleb dominuje. W smaku drożdzowo-chlebowe. kolor po zmętnieniu jest prawie brązowy. Piana spora, ale szybko opada. Nuty rozgrzewające na finiszu.

Bottle @ brewday. Aroma is malt, some fruits. Flavour is quite sweet with caramel, malt and fruity. Okay I guess.

Brown 330 ml bottle, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 8.1% Huge white and thick head, a little more than three fingers. Very good retention and heavy lacing covering the glass as the foam goes down. Colour of the beer is a deep, slighty hazy but transparent orange gold. On the aroma malts, yeast, fruity peach notes. Very nice. Taste is sweet and malty, but becomes soft bitter on the finish, with lots of hops. Again, some peach notes. The alcohol is masterfully hidden. Medium on the body, with right carbonation. Quite dry on the palate. Very nice tripel, glad I gave it a try.

Cloudy copper colour with a small frothy white head. Yeast, spices and mild hops in the aroma. The flavour is spices, yeast, hops and malt. Turns tastier when warms a little more. Fruity and spices hops. Some bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. But still it isn’t that great.

Ruikt naar stro, stal of mest. Stevige schuimkraag. Smaak: zoet bier, esters en hop. Bittere nasmaak die blijft plakken in de mond. Nasmaak zeer aangenaam. Dit bier was een belevenis, maar eenmalig.

Clear golden yellow with hugh white foam head, lacing and leaving drink rings. Aroma is quite malty for a tripel. Taste like a high alcohol pale ale. Nice bitter aftertaste though. (Velp 201212)
