Angeloregon (1516), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 10, 2008 On tap at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR--A light brown-mahogany body. Very light bodied for a modern day porter. Dull roasted, watery nose. Some chocolate and a lot of grainy malt in the nose. Finished thin, but easy drinking. Not bad. Not great. BuckeyeBoy (1063), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 30, 2008 On tap at Flying Pie Boise. Pours out a hazy dark amberish topped with a small tan head. Aroma of light sweetness, some light hops, and some roast. Tast of light roast and some nuts. A little bitter hop end. I liked this one. jake65 (1182), Meridian, Idaho, USA Feb 20, 2008 Draft @ Bittercreek Alehouse: Pours a dark and murky reddish brown with a large, creamy beige head. Tremendous amounts of lacing. Aroma of hops, rye, and roasted malt. Tastes like an IPA and a Porter spawned a rye based strong ale. Roasty, florals, bready, and rye notes. Not quite what I expected. If I hadn’t watched the server pull the TG Porter taphandle I would have argued about it being what I had ordered. marcus (908), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 4, 2007 On tap at the Rogue Bones and Brew festival. This dark brown ale poured with thin beige head. The flavor is heavy-duty chocolate with a long malty finish. Very tasty. acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA Nov 29, 2006 Medium dark brown, more light coming through the body that expected, but still OK looking. Smells of crackers, light bakers chocolate, light mocha, and some cream. Tastes pretty similar, with more of the mocha and chocolate flavors, and just a light dusting of charred malts. Seems it fits right in the traditional (brown) porter genre rather than the robust porter. Lightly creamy on the palate, normal carbonation level. Solid brew.
