Bottle... Poured deep, dark brown with a thick forming, khaki head. Nice retention. Nose was mild, just doughy, bready, toasted malts. This came through on the palate too with a hint of roast. Light, fizzy, and almost dry with the mouthfeel. With a British-inspired ale ester component in the finish.

Pour with a dark brown and small tan head. Aroma was sweet dark chocolate. Taste nice dark chocolate with an unexpected very pleasant sweetness and just a touch of a citrusy note. Mouthfeel was rich and satisfying. The finish was bittersweet chcolate and roast.

Fatehunter (1219) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - NOV 29, 2013
Pours two fingers of head on a medium brown colored body. The aroma is pine, chocolate and roasted malt. A wonderful mixture. The taste is pine bitterness with roasted malt and dark chocolate rounding it out. The level of bitterness is uncharacteristic for the style but it fit well. The texture is smooth with a crisp finish and moderate carbonation with a little fizz in the middle. A great porter with a unique twist.

maekchu (2140) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle. Light chocolate nose, with a bit of coffee, and honey on toast. Dull cloudy brown dishwater color (ugly, in fact). Light roast, chocolate, grainy, some decent hopping, and a bit too much yeast / mid maintains this / finish is lightly bitter. Light body. Overhopped for the body. Very pale and clear. Not really much of a porter.

Draught. Pours an extremely cloudy brown color with a moderate white head on it. Nose is very roasty with some nice coffee elements to it. Taste has some very similar elements to the nose, with the coffee roasting coming through in a very smooth manner.

Goes wonderfully with Mexican style scrambled eggs (seitan chorizo, cheese, avocado).

12 ounce bottle thanks to Mike. Pours a cloudy dark amber colo with a medium tan head. A sweet nose of caramel and big malty fruit. An odd fruity, coconut, caramel, some mocha flavors. Ok. Not a porter. Dry.

Copper-brown, hazy, tan head. Aroma of cocoa, toffee, chocolate, some bready malt, and a little coffee. Flavor is similar, with grainy malt, baker's chocolate, a little caramel sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Two finger head, pours cloudy. Sweet roasted malt with a little coffee on the nose. Creamy front, great mouth feel. Pleasant malt taste with lingering bitterness.

Bottle. Pours murky bottle brown with a large khaki head. Excellent retention and lace. Easy 4. Sweet chocolate, light roast malts and earthy hops. Light-med sweetness with a medium body, thin-oily texture, soft carbonation and a light bittersweet roasted finish.
