It poured an attractive and clear copper color with a nice rich off-white head that left good lacing rings. Nose was of floral and citrus hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and very smooth. Flavor is strong on hops with good bitterness but is not overpowering. Finish is well balanced and nicely bitter. A very good IPA. troopie (867), USA

Very hoppy flavour but balanced, with hoppy finish that lasts. Good beer with sushi Skyview (4020), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2007 On tap at Mickey Finn’s Brewpub in Portland, Oregon. This location does not brew their own beer. Pours a semi-clear coppery amber brew with a fizzy and thick off-white head with goot retention. Aroma of heavy citrus and grapefruit hops with just a touch of toffee malt. Uff Dah! Taste is bitter to the max. The bitterness is so over-powering it is difficult to pick up any caramel or roasted malt flavor. Taste is medium bodied, highly carbonated with more bitterness to last a few hours. Finish has a dry bitterness that lingers for a while. Whew! I need a break after this one. Crit (2401), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

Earthy, woody nose.Very woody taste, good malt backbone, medium bitter finish. The extreme woodiness spoils it for me, I find it somewhat offensive on the palate

Pours a clear copper body under a big fizzy and frothy beige head that left lots of sticky lacing. The aroma is of moderate citrusy hops with just a light toffee malt accent. The flavor is lightly hoppy with moderate bitterness and a grainy toasted malt finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with soft fine carbonation. A little stickiness on the finish. Overall, not the most exciting or lively IPA. Once you’ve had a TG, it’s tough to drink another IPA after it. BIG flavor, but also very good balance between the malt and hops. I highly recommend this brew. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Real ale (or at least unpasteurized). Very nice hop - pine, floral and maybe citrus. Could be a bit of malt tagging along. Light amber color with a hugely frothy, lacing off-white head. Full bodied. Almost creamy. Malt, floral, bit of pine. Floral develops more after a bit. I am losing the citrus somewhere. Some malty sweetness towards the finish, and there is a very nice balance at the end. Kind of earthy in a way, but a good way. Perhaps an ESB on steroids. brewblackhole (1370), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
