Commercial Description:
Pale copper in color, but big in body and flavor with a heady hop character. The IPA uses spring water and snow melt from high in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Terminal Gravity used over 50% Marris Otter pale ale malt imported from the British Isles for a traditional British flavor. It adds several other malts from the Northwest and Europe. TG IPA has over 2 pounds of hops per barrel, finishing with British Fuggles for that classic aroma.

Bottle: Ruddy copper color with a white head. Aroma, pine, caramel, nutty, some citrus. Flavor, nutty, pine, earthy hop notes. Some caramel, some citrus, with a piny/earthy bitterness. Finishes dry with a nutty after taste. Lively carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle, nice pine hop aroma, with some deep malts, good bitter taste, but still balanced by tasty malts. Good carbonation, quite nice really. A bit big for a session, but still very drinkable, with only a touch of metallic hops thrown in. I dig this brew.

Courtesy of kenb. Pours mahogany with a rocky white head. Smells of nutty malt, pine and pepper. Tastes bitter with oranges and more nutty malt.

Thanks to kenb for the trade. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with small yeast floaties and an average size creamy off white head that left lots of lacing. Aroma of various citrus, caramel and grainy malts, nice malty/hop balance. Flavor of some pine and grapefruit, yeasty and some plastic. Some lingering hop bitterness and a little on the thin side. More of the caramel malt came out in thise one as it warmed up.

12oz bottle from neighbor. Pours a nice amber color, cloudy with an average size head. Hoppy aroma with notes of bread and citrus. Nice bittering hops bite, medium bodied a bit grassy with some carbonation fizz feel.

Tap... A slightly hazy, honey tone with a medium white, fluffy head. A nice hoppy aroma, and a well carbonated palate. Flavors of hops, mild malt, and a nice grainy, bread-like flavor that was very dominant in both the body and the finish. Very different from a lot of IPAs. I like this one a lot.

On tap at Bugatti’s in West Linn. Arrives a hazy gold with dense head. Aroma is classic northwest IPA; floral, citrus, and pine. Bitterness is matched well with sweetness and body is on the light side of full. A terrific lookout for my pizza.

Terminal Gravity IPA pours a hazy gold color with an orangy hue and has a pillowy pale yellow head. The initial head holds up well, but eventually collapses to leave a thin, dense crown and some puffy lacing on the glass. There is a lot of caramel, toasted malt, and delicate floral citrus in the aroma. The flavor seems to showcase the nice toasted caramel/toffee malt and first and then some hop flavor (grapefruit and lemon peel) and bitterness is gradually layed in. There is a slight yeast sourness in the bitter and spicy finish. The flavors and sweetness/bittereness level are balanced overall. The body seems right for the style and the carbonation is under control. This is a good IPA. I like the obvious presence of the English malts and the flavorful, yet somewhat subdued hoppiness. A classic IPA that will always hit the spot! 12 oz bottle from kenb. Thanks Ken!
