Commercial Description:
Pale copper in color, but big in body and flavor with a heady hop character. The IPA uses spring water and snow melt from high in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Terminal Gravity used over 50% Marris Otter pale ale malt imported from the British Isles for a traditional British flavor. It adds several other malts from the Northwest and Europe. TG IPA has over 2 pounds of hops per barrel, finishing with British Fuggles for that classic aroma.

Bottle courtesy of BrewDad! Pours a rich copper with a small tan head. Very hazy body. Aroma is hoppy and spicy with some caramel notes, light toffee and flowery. Taste is juicy hops, light floral notes, subtle spiciness, caramel and chewy malts. This is scrumptious! Body is medium-full. Dense and creamy carbonation. More caramel, juicy hops, floral notes and light spiciness finish this one off. Very nice! This would be great on draft and as a session beer!

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a very cloudy copper color with a small ivory head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is of rich malts, grass, flowers and citrus. Taste is of rich, sweet malts, floral hops, spice and citrus. Has a more bitter than sweet ending. Medium bodied, well carbonated, and crisp.

On tap at Rose & Raindrop, Portland. Hazy copper colour with thin beige head. Cat’s pee hop aroma. Fairly watery in mouth. Decent hit of hop on end. Bit cat’s peeish though. Acidic, but then decent malt stops it being disgusting.

Bottle (12oz). Poured hazy coppery-orange with a large, lasting foamy/rocky beige head. Big malt aroma up front with a lot of funky UK (fuggles, I get it) hops, dry - really like an amped-up ESB more than an IPA, but interesting. Dry and nutty malt body, hint of cocoa, and again lots of those fuggles in the bitter, herbal finish. Thick body, very astringent, only mildly carbonated but a decently complex finish. In a word, good.

Bottle: Thanks to kenb for this. Pours golden in color with a small white head. I smell an interesting smell in this one, smells like a little bit of burnt malt or something, with a hop background, very interesting. Doesn’t smell like a typical IPA. Taste is a bit bitter, with a bit of that burnt malty flavorness to it. This is an interesting brew. I am not quite sure what to make of this one. Tastes a bit like rye, the more I have. Odd... Maybe I will have to try again sometime.

Bottle from kenb. Not what I was expecting. Definitely in the British-style of IPA’s. Subdued hops w/ large malt, toast, and nut accents. Drinkable.

Thanks to kenb for this one. Pours a golden-amber with a nice layer of white foamy head. Well, no doubt that this is a hoppy IPA. Plenty of piney hop aromas rising uo outta’ the glass. They are a bit bitter on the taste buds but are well teamed up with a bit of richness from some malts. A bit of astringentcy on the back of the tongue.
