Commercial Description:
Pale copper in color, but big in body and flavor with a heady hop character. The IPA uses spring water and snow melt from high in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Terminal Gravity used over 50% Marris Otter pale ale malt imported from the British Isles for a traditional British flavor. It adds several other malts from the Northwest and Europe. TG IPA has over 2 pounds of hops per barrel, finishing with British Fuggles for that classic aroma.

12oz bottle shared by bret27. Amber with a white head. Weird aroma with a dirty dishrag thing going on, along with some earthy hops. Sweet malty flavor with nice balancing hop bitterness and some citrus flavor. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavor was a nice mellow but unremarkable IPA, but the aroma on this was just odd.

Bottle courtesy bret27. Pours a hazy apple juice color with a whitish head composed of largish bubbles. Aromas of bruised apple (from the Fuggles) and piney hops with some very light pale malt. Flavor is herbal and spicy with some earthiness and toasty malts, maybe a hint of caramel. Medium-light body, very drinkable.

12oz. Bottle (6.9%ABV): Aroma of hops, malts, slight toasting, and a hint of caramel. Poured amber/orange/copper in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Small lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, caramel malts, slight grass, light caramel, slight pine, and some toasting. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hop and toasted caramel malt finish is dry.

12 oz bottle I picked up on a recent trip to Seattle. Pours a nice deep golden hued brown with a dingy white head. Heavy hop aromas, grassy, lemon, earthy tones to it. A soft carbonation, maybe a little too soft. A well flavored IPA.

Pours a bright orange, with a smallish off-white head. Lots of sweet citrus hops on the nose, with plenty of butterscotch malts to counter. Nice, big aroma. Slightly weaker flavor, which starts out very malty for an IPA - light brown sugar dominates - then moves into a more bitter aftertaste, with some toasted nuts overshadowed by dry hops. Nice and crisp carbonation and an entirely enjoyable brew.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker. Hazy golden honey in appearance. Medium to large off-white head. The aroma is more malty than many I’ve sampled lately. The doughy nose overpowers the hops. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, and a sticky, creamy mouthfeel. Flavor of caramel malt, resiny hops, and dough that covers the tongue. Moderate bitterness also lingers. Malt level of an IPA with the hops of a pale is how it tastes to me. I enjoyed the substantial body, but prefer the hops to be at least as big as the malt level.

Nice copper coloured body with a nice-sized tan head that tops the beer nicely. Aroma of super strong hops, pungent malt and a good alcohol bite. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hoppiness in the taste with a good malt backbone and a strong alcohol finish. Aftertaste super hoppy with a good nutty finish. Overall, a very nice IPA - strong and hoppy, complete with a very well-rounded finish. I sampled this beer on draught at Henry’s 12th St Tavern in Portland, Oregon on 09-September--2006.
