Commercial Description:
Pale copper in color, but big in body and flavor with a heady hop character. The IPA uses spring water and snow melt from high in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Terminal Gravity used over 50% Marris Otter pale ale malt imported from the British Isles for a traditional British flavor. It adds several other malts from the Northwest and Europe. TG IPA has over 2 pounds of hops per barrel, finishing with British Fuggles for that classic aroma.

12 oz bottle received as a bonus beer in a trade with DarkElf - Thanks Stephen! - Pours amber and cloudy with a nice offwhite head that settled quickly back to a film and laced it’s way down the glass. Aroma is buttery, apricot, some toffee. Flavor is a nice blend of cereal malts and citrus hops. Some notes of frosted flakes, caramel, and apricot with a touch of grapefruit. Palate is smooth and very drinkable.

Beer pours lightly cloudy apricot color with a totally retained, creamy off white head that sticks very nicely to the glass. Aroma is grassy, hoppy with a nice cereal malt undertone. Flavor is delicously hoppy, but is also has a wonderful malt backbone that compliment the hops really well. This is the kind of beer I could drink every day.

Had this on tap at a couple of different pubs in Portland. It had a hazy color with a bit of a head. Very strong grapefruit aroma - Yum. This is really a great example of what I’ve come to expect with respect to NW IPA’s.

Hazy, darkish amber, irregular lacing. Some malts here, but overall the pine effect is so dense as to create a distinct tea flavor...tea tea tea, with some mint. Moderate palate. I’ve seen this kind before and the net effect isn’t that satisfying by my palate, at least.

Bottle. Nose-cereal, rotten melon, pine. Taste-very bitter up front, nicely lacking in sweetness. Too one sided and simple. Good use of malts, which earn it some bonus points. Mildly thin.

Orange color. Wispy head. Nose of orange and pine. Typical PNW IPA. Lots of citrus followed by some of that pine. Sorta sweet. PNW IPA’s SUCK ASS!!!!!!!!
