Commercial Description:
Pale copper in color, but big in body and flavor with a heady hop character. The IPA uses spring water and snow melt from high in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Terminal Gravity used over 50% Marris Otter pale ale malt imported from the British Isles for a traditional British flavor. It adds several other malts from the Northwest and Europe. TG IPA has over 2 pounds of hops per barrel, finishing with British Fuggles for that classic aroma.

aroma is a malty, and fruity. head is a little fizzy, but stays. color is ambery, but not too clear. flavor is bold and thick. bitterness lingers, but with a bit of sweetness. not a traditional NW ipa, but true to the british style. one of my favorites.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with an attractive white head that hung around for a bit and left wispy lacing. Sweet aroma, orange juice, bit of pineapple, with a wonderful herby and floral hop aroma. Flavor is also quite sweet, caramely malts, apricot and sour peach, a fine balance of bittering hops, with a lemon grassy, herby, astringent quality. Medium body and mild carbonation. Not your typical West Coast IPA, the English influence and ingredients are quite evident in this one and quite good as well.

There’s a nice blending of hops in this hazy copper ale. The Fuggles are more evident in the aroma, presenting an earthy, herbal hop bitterness over caramel malt with a hint of apples. This medium bodied brew has a fruity taste with a generous heaping of northwestern hops making for a nice resinous bite on the tongue. It’s got a lasting, mouthwateringly bitter finish. Nice.

Pours a clear amber color. small white head. Aroma is musty, apricots, sawdust, and pine needles. Flavor is sweet and full. Lots of fruit and bitter in the flavor. Very nice brew. I need to lay off the iPAs I think. Thanks to Crosling for this one!

The rents bought me a 6 Pack at the brewery. Super fresh. Dark salmon in color. Well developed head of white froth. Floral, herbaceous, piney and medicinal hop aroma, although it isn’t quite as vibrant as the best IPA’s. Flavor is oily and slick, hoppy as hell,, in a non traditional American way, but not exactly English either. The hops are floral and herbaceous, while the malt underneath is subtle, with hints of caramel and butter toffee.

Great IPA. Was one of my first real experiences into the great brewed beer market. These guys have a great product and are on there way to making it. Time for a Stout to be bottled for the masses.

Thanks to SNOB for the bottle. Slightly hazy orange amber colored. Small white head with nice lingering. Fuggles and Cascade aromatics, with a syrupy malt backbone. Sweet nose, melds into malty flavors that dominate most of the taste. Hop flavors emerge later, with a spritely bitterness that lingers in the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly medium with a nice balance that is never too astringent nor syrupy.

12 oz bottle. Clear light amber with a nice piney hop aroma. Taste is well balanced tilting a bit more towards the malt than the hops but I like the hop flavors. Fruitty flavors of tangerine zest and orange. Malts are on the sweet side though but other than that, a very good IPA.
