COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Terminal Gravity IPA is a copper to honey colored ale with a rich malt character and a clean bitter hop finish. This full bodied beer uses malts from Scotland, Belgium and the Pacific Northwest to achieve a slightly nutty lightly toasted taste. Yeast esters provide hints of stone fruits like apricot and peach, while hops from Yakima and Eastern Europe provide grapefruit and spicy notes.

A very commanding hoppy presence. Typical IPA flavor. Kind of cool that they imported hops from Britain.

Bottle. Aroma is green olive and citrus. Taste is heavy malt but still delicious. Really, really heavy malt. Bitterness is just right though. Exceptionally unbalanced, yet there is something about the flavor that is drawing me in. Enjoyable and weird.

Bottle A: Dark red - mostly opaque. Thin drifting off white head. Lacing. N: Toasted malt, pine, grapefruit, biscuit, some bark, damp autumn leaves, onion, burnt brown sugar, and peppercorn. T: Quite bitter, lightly burnt, lightly sweet. M: Medium body, very prickly carbonation, light alcohol burn. O: Throwback IPA. Dry with a big malt bite and the ’characteristic’ lack of intense dry hopping. Still, quite nice.

Maris (1339) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAR 10, 2016
From a 355ml bottle on 10/3/2016. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a small head, Has a muted aroma of caramel, honey, some citrus fruit and an odd slightly chemical smell. Take a sip and there’s a bit of sweet caramel malt, lots of sharp sweet and sour citrus, a bit of spice, followed by a big, quite astringent bitterness. The texture is a touch syrupy and the carbonation is soft. This is a bit of a weird one. Not at all typical of a west coast IPA, and comes across as a little unbalanced. On the bright side, it did begin to charm me just a little towards the end.

Bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. A fairly deep copper-amber colour with a small and fading off-white to light beige head on the pour. Aromas of pine, resin, tropical fruits and sweet-accented malt. Similar to taste wth a slight toastiness from the malt towards the back end. Mid-weight with definite malt heft but maintains a crisp, refreshing texture. Medium carbonation finishing with a moderate to full intensity and length bitterness.

Bottle from Beer Cartel 050316. First beer from Terminal Gravity Brewing Company and judging by this beer I will be back for more. Full bodied and full favoured with just the right amount of hops.

Bottle, 10C. Clear amber with an inch of near white head. Interesting aroma with bread crusts, peach, pine logs, kumquats, grapefruit. Full bodied but not sticky, moderate carbonation. Bittersweet with hop aromatics thoroughly melded into clean rich malt flavours. Bread, singed grain, peach, hints of stewed and dried fruit, citrus peel, pine. Fairly strong bitterness. A bit wearing after a while, but a fine beer and a good reminder that IPA is a very broad "style" even in the West of the US.

Bottle from Kumiyama AEON Mall liquor shop. Caramel and yogurt candy nose, pine, floral and fresh. Copper color. Malty initial, citrus and pine (grapefuit and resin), some mild tropical fruit, and a small bitter finish. Medium-heavy body. Big-featured brew. Approaching barleywine in character. Rich and well-balanced stuff. Nice flavor changes throughout the palate.

The aroma is light bitterness with a malty sweetness. Tast is smoth and malty with some back of the tongue bitter hops finish. Leaves a mild orchard fruits aftertaste.
