COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Terminal Gravity Tap Out is an American Strong Ale whose finely balanced blend of lightly kilned malts, crystal and cascade hops, with a bit of rye gives it a smooth drinkability.
Our exclusive yeast provides faint accents of stone fruit esters, apricot and peach, which make for a complex array of subtle flavors. Its smooth balance makes Tap Out perfect for a summer evening’s libation.

Poured from a 12. Aroma has a slight caramel nose. First flavor is sweet, crisp and very carbonated. Finishes dank, like a Bud, and really bitter.

12 oz bottle. Aroma: malty, fruity, woody, and slightly boozy and skunky, with hints of caramel, butterscotch, bread, and barnyard. Taste/Palate: sweet and thick; finishes slightly bitter and astringent.

Decent stuff. A big red beer with malt forward head, wonderfully un-metallic for the style. Soft and subtle but warm. I think they did a great job but a 6-pack is a stretch at this ABV. They going after the Lagunitas market?

12oz bottle from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR $1.79 Says 9.8% alc Clear light copper coloured ale with a nice cream coloured half inch head. Aroma not very prominent..mostly bready malts and the slightest of spice from the rye. Taste oddly different more fruity .. light peach..nectarine ( the yeast), some caramel malts and a touch of cascade hops. Nice actually Nice smooth palate..very little sign of the strong alc volume. I liked this one..strong but a good sipper. my 2000th

This beer is great! Mahogany in color, malty aroma, mild hop flavor, but just enough bitterness to let you know that you are drinking a beer made by someone who knows what a beer ought to be!

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Dark golden in color, moderate foamy white head, nice lacing, light carbonation.   Husky nose, slight alcohol.   Seems fairly bready.   Holy cow, that is some fire right up front, bready, with strong alcohol notes.   While it burns a bit, it comes and goes quickly.   A little mealy, but thankfully not cloying.   Doesn’t have any of the floral aspect of a Tripel, but I actually wasn’t really expecting that.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Strong bready finish, a touch mealy, with some alcohol burn.   Simple, but nothing off at least.   Its a bruiser tho!

Tap at OBF. Pours amber with a slight beige head. Malty aroma. Near full bodied. Flavor is quite brown sugar. Not finishing dry. Tasty.

On ratebeer its called a triple, in th OBF program is called a craft malt liquor. when I made a malt liquor last year i called it an american trippel cause that sounds classier.. This brew may be more a barley wine, though ighter in body & sweetness than usual for that category. I’m a long time TG fan so had high hops for this one & wasn’t disappointed. Amber wit a modest off white head..Aromas of resin, caramel, & fruit wood smoke. Malts strong ont he flavor front, with peach and smoke mixed with caramel (also hiding the alcohol,) but enough muster from resin hops with a little grapefruit edge to keep a balance.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2013 On draught at Roscoe’s 4/13/13. Deep golden. Sweet caramel aroma. Grape juice flavor and an odd almost bitter finish. Seems much more like a malt liquor than any tripel. Again, had on draught, but at 26th Oregon Brewers Festival 7/24. Deep golden almost amber. Sticky sweet malt aroma. Taste is incredibly sweet malt with a very present alcohol note. Slightly bitter finish with an alcohol warming effect.
