Aroma: the 2005 has the rich carmel malt aroma with strong earthy hops, the 2006 aroma is much lighter in both malt and hops
Flavor: 2006 has nice balanced carmel malt flavor with the hops, even though oxidized the 2005 still has a stronger earthy hop flavor and a bit more sweetness where the 2006 is quite dry, body on the 2006 might be a bit thinner as well, overall I prefer the 2006 because of the toned down hop flavor

Bottle from TheBeerCellar. Thanks! Pours a deep muddy brown with a thin head. Retention not so good, lacing good. Aroma is strong malt with an earthy hop profile perfectly blended in. Taste is oily hops with a nutty malt profile. Terrapin is fast becoming a favorite brewery of mine.

Bottle, from total wine. Pours an amber color. Aroma hits with caramel malt and some serious hop notes flood the nose. Flavor has some resin, citrus and floral hops while a big malt backbone keep this one from being a big hop bomb.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2007 Bottle... This beer rocks!... Clear, deep mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Floral, evergreen, earthy notes and caramel in the nose. Big beer! Hopped like crazy, but solid enough malt to put the lupalin to the test. A touch of caramel and a good bit of late-arriving bitterness and pungency. Medium to full-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Finishes, medium bitter, herbal and very grassy. World class hop experience! Thanks to GoldTwins for the bottle!

12 oz. bottle, pours a murky dark red / mahogany with a beige / tan head, one-finger in width. Very aromatic nose, with heaps of caramel malt providing a strong backbone, grapefruit, dark fruits and truckloads of resinous hops. Flavour is both sweet and hoppy, in superb balance, with truckloads of both resinous hops and grapefruity / caramel malt. Finishes sticky sweet and mildly bitter. Most excellent.

Bottle from Captain Couger. Pours Reddish with restrained but noticeable foam, in my anti-gravity glass.Very very smooth, though hoppy. Alcohol hits you without noticing in taste. Malty, satisfying, though not overly complex. Well balanced.

Sample at the "Beer Tasting on the Front Porch". Pours an iced tea color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Rings of lacing. Aroma of hops, sweet molasses and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, bready malt and pine. The finish is hoppy with a sweet malty aftertaste. Good IIPA all around.
