4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 Beige caramel head on a sea of jet black. Beautiful lacing. Faint aroma of cinnamon, but the coffee is very masked compared to normal W-n-B. Huge cinnamon on the first sip. Slight booziness on the back end. Smooth, full body. Can?t wait to try it with some age on it.

I'm thinking that Ale & Witch has a problem with their taps. Everything tastes like metal. Decent cinnamon aroma but the flavor is destroyed by the metallic taste from their taps. The coffee comes thru but can't taste any cinnamon.

Not getting much cinnamon from this one, still pretty decent though. I'll try it again after aging a bottle.

Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose and taste of cinnamon buns, fresh coffee latte, buttered toasted nuts, hot chocolate, vanilla and light roast. Medium body. Delicious.

Finally found this on draft at Augustine’s. Pours nearly black with big dark tan head. Scent is Cinnabon mixed with coffee. Flavor is sweet with earthy roasted back end. Believe the hype. Draft - Augustine’s - Atlanta, GA

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2014 On tap at the Blue monkey. Pours black with small beige head, light lacing. Aromas and flavor of chocolate roast, cinnamon stick but def no cinnamon bun or Cinnabon notes. Smaller notes of licorice, espresso, and barrel. No icing either. This is not as good as a normal batch of Wake n Bake but still a nice variation. Medium body with a stickiness left behind. Got better as it warmed with milks cocoa and a minor cinnamon bun note, Well take it!

Bottle thanks to Rob. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is strong cinnamon and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with strong cinnamon flavor and light spice with sweet finish. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is fairly cinnamon forward but not quite at that Abraxas level. Medium coffee notes that cut through the cinnamon along with medium light chocolate notes that contribute to the other aromas more than distinguishing themselves as individual notes. Pretty nice aroma that hits the points they were going for.
Pours black with a medium thick, dark mocha head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers along with a faint haze in the center. Medium lacing and medium long legs.
Flavor still has a lot of coffee like the regular W-n-B but with some secondary cinnamon notes. Medium chocolate character and some lighter oatmeal notes. Light alcohol spice in the finish that also exhibits medium coffee and bitter chocolate with a hint of cinnamon. Medium to medium high bitterness but no hop flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium carbonation. Low but present astringency and low to medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall a much better beer than the white chocolate but it lacks the sweetness of a cinnamon roll. I think if they tried to nail the sweetness it would have been too big and cloying though so its a tough flavor to recreate. They would have been better off calling it a cinnamon spiced coffee beer or something like that (even cinnamon toast which is less sweet).

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: Pitch black body with a very short dark brown head. Mean looking beer.
Aroma: Lots of earthy coffee with a hint of cinnamon in the background. Smells like Wake and Bake with a dash of cinnamon.
Taste: Prominent coffee, but tastes muted compared to how pungent I remember Wake and Bake to be. Cinnamon is on the finish and comes off a bit abrasive after 4 ounces. I wouldn’t want a pint.
Palate: Full-bodied, mildly carbonated.
Overall: Hats off to you Terrapin. You’ve managed to take a good beer and find a way to double your profits by charging for the addition of cinnamon, which I could have achieved in my room. I don’t get the hype for this, seriously guys throw some cinnamon in your Wake and Bake and call it a day.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had Christmas Eve. Just had the regular version as a comparison directly before this. Pours dark and rather thick as one would expect. The coffee is still the dominate flavor, but the cinnamon still shines quite strong, especially as it warms. The cinnamon adds a nice and different touch. Super solid sipper. A bit sweeter and more decadent than the original. Perhaps just a touch under the original as I could drink a 4 pack of that in an evening, but I could barely do a bomber of this. Still very nice and likely the first two Terrapin special release brews.
