3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great beer. Best hop aroma I have encountered for a session beer. The taste is fruity citrusy hops with a high level of bitterness.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served a lightly hazed golden yellow color with a one finger white head. The head fades over a moderate level of time leaving quite a nice level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma was overall very light and consisted mainly of a citrus hop smell. Mixed with this smell were some notes of pine as well as a bit of a malty aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a moderately bready flavor with sweet orange and some bitter grapefruit upfront. As the taste advances some lighter fruit flavors (peach and pear) come to the tongue, sweetening the flavor and lessening the strength of the grapefruit citrus hop taste. Soon however more hop flavors some to the tongue. The grapefruit resurges in strength with a grassy hop flavor coming to the tongue as well. In combination, at the end of the taste, all the flavors combined leave a bitter very light bready flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the brew is on the thinner side (as expected for an only 4.5 % abv) with a carbonation level that is a tad on the higher side. Both are very nice for the session style of the brew and keep the it very easy drinking even thought there is a bit of a bitter bite at the end of the taste.
Overall – A good easy drinking session with a decent level of hop flavor and a bit of a bitter bite.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours an oddly cloudy orange with a small off white head. The nose has a light honey note and faint hops. The flavor delivers the same with a touch of grain. Surprisingly subdued hop profile offering little more than a touch of bitterness. Weak offering for these guys.

Bottle a year old. Should probably try fresh. As it was, flat carbonation and little hops most likely due to its age. Some good flavor there that suggests it might be better fresh.

The Lost Notebook Files Beer #14. People say that Terrapin’s Recreationale was a reboot of this beer. I don’t believe that to be true, because my thoughts on the two are inconsistent. Pours amber with white head. Great scent of pineapple and grapefruit. Taste is overly bitter and consistency seems synthetic. Bottle - Source Unknown

Numerous bottles. Great summer offering from terrapin - yellowish color, hoppy aroma - easy to drink, cool and refreshing. Lower alcohol makes it great for a session when its about 100 degrees in NC. Nice beer that I look for every summer. Great from the bottle too, who needs a glass when its that hot outside. This one is really good at just above freezing.

Clear straw broken only by a slow steady stream of bubbles that burst into a white bread head that is thick and has no intentions to disappear. Swirls with white bread lace.
Very fresh, zippy, and zesty. Citrus and pine in the back. Pink and white grapefruit in the middle. Lemon-lime along the edges. White cracker crunch for support. Golden sun-kissed cereal grains.
Full up front which leads into a nice dry pithy piney finish. Sticky hop resin lips. Full flavor and light body reveal freshly squeezed orange and lemon-lime in the middle. Mint leaf and spearmint in the breath. White crackers provide solid silent stalwart support.
A session beer homerun from first quaff to last. The Easy Rider was an easy drink with gobs of flavor to keep even the most jaded flavorholic happy. If Terrapin canned this, it would be the penultimate boat/beach/pool/camping/anywhere beer. Awesome.
