Before red curtains framed the Georgia Theatre stage, they hung alongside silver screen legends: Bogart’s trademark scar, Better Davis’ eyes. The Elite Theatre hummed with a reel-to-reel movie projector, and lines for the box office looped the block for the hottest ticket in town. By 1935, the building’s signature red-lettered marquee advertised double-feature nickelodeons and spaghetti westerns. Like any good sequel, the Georgia Theatre kept what was great about the Elite: star-studded evenings o’ entertainment. Double feature stars as the second in Terrapin’s Georgia Theatre Sessions, a Belgian-style Dubbel Ale as smooth as the silver screen.

Bottle courtesy of daknole. Pour is orange-amber with an off-white head. Aroma shows notes of candi sugar, bubblegum, fig, orange, caramel, and a certain sake aspect that seems to be attributed to the yeast. Flavor shows the same. Overall body is light to moderate, and the alcohol seems to show a little too much.

22 oz bottle from someone that is escaping me at this time. Thanks, though! Pours a glowing amber hue, darker, orange and brown notes fade in, a light haze, quite dark, with a big cakey khaki head that starts to die, eventually settles as a thicker film that laces ok. Aromas are a a bit off to me, smells a bit stale, some darker caramel and toffee mix in with fruity esters and spice, apples and grapes, faint brown sugar, spicy yeast. Bread dough. Initial is light bodied, underbodied, with some warming booziness, bread and some light biscuits and toffee. Fruity apples, pear, bread dough, lively spicy yeast comes into the fold. A decent bitter finish, warming alcohol, light yeast and touches of sweet vanilla, tofee, estery apples and pear. A bit musty almost, stale. Overall, a bit bland and hot, underbodied. Flavors lack life and complexity. A dissappointment from Terrapin that lacks life, depth, or any coherence in my book.

(22oz bottle) pours orange with off-white head. Aroma is sweet with bubblegum. Taste is semi-sweet with a slight hop bite. Thin bodied with slick texture. Kind of disappointing.
