Copper pour. Good citrus floral wisp off the top. Carmel reisiny body, rather smoothed out and subdued but with a lingering hidden strength. Easy drinking. Solid character overall
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (17558) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 21, 2010
Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear amber, brief head. Rich mango aroma. Mid-sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Slick crysta malt covered in generous amounts of tropcial fruit-like hops. Powerful bitterness. A tasty hop driven beer, albeit with somewhat shallow malt profile.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ansermadide (1229) - Kyle, Texas, USA - MAR 20, 2010
Quick review, as I’m being rushed. It has a clean orange colorw/ no carbonation to speak of, but has a frothy off-white, nearly light brown head. It has an awesome hop nose, a little malty and alot hoppy but honestly the flavor is a little lacking. Not a bad thing, just a little bit of a let down. I wouldn’t peg this as anywhere near 78 IBU. Still, a lovely beer with a sweet malt palate and a musky finish.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 KornDogg (499) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 19, 2010
On Tap. Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Hazy golden body with medium frothy head. Flavor is dominant of grapefruit and pine, hints of citrus with a nice balance of hops... slight bitter aftertaste. Overall, a well rounded IPA
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 puggy211 (711) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Pours a mostly translucent deeper golden amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head that laced. Aroma of a handful of fresh American hops. Grapefruit, pine, floral notes and other excellent citrus hop character. Some caramel and bready malt poking through. Flavor is another heavy does of hops. Fresh and resiny, pine, grapefruit and orange. There is some cereal grains and caramel malt there to help balance. Hop bitterness is perfectly aggressive for the style. Very well done
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Telios (10) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 18, 2010
On tap at Redlight. This beer has a nice hop aroma, mostly clear amber appearance with minimal white head. Taste unfortunately doesn’t quite deliver enough of the nice hop flavor from the nose. I’ve tried this in the bottle and this was even more evident. The taste is there and I like it, but it’s just not quite assertive enough to light up my taste buds the right way. I like how the beer feels in my mouth, though: medium body and clean texture with no stickiness. Quite drinkable. I’m a big fan of Terrapin and have eagerly awaited this release. Even though it’s not the "PlinytheElder of the East coast" I was hoping for, I’d gladly drink more of this in the future.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 18, 2010
2009 Bottle - Thanks Beerlando! - Pours clear orange amber with a large off white head...aroma immediately brings me back to harvesting Cascades from my backyard last year, tons of grapefruit pith and resin, fresh and floral, caramel malt playing in the background...flavour is not quite up to the task, light citrus fruit, burnt grain and some toffee...lingering bitterness, but nowhere near the bite I expected...the nose overpromised IMO...pretty good, maybe it had fallen off a bit...
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Capa (1908) - Manama, BAHRAIN - MAR 17, 2010
Nice copper color. Earthy, citrus, light malty aroma. A light spicy bite. Flavor has enough hops to keep me interested but not extreme. Some sweet malts and herbals hops, too. A good IPA.
