Cloudy golden pour with a minimal head that leaves no lacing. Mild aroma of malt and a very faint hint of citrus. Taste comes across the same with a slightly astringent finish. Ok IPA.

bottle in OBX. Not a real big fan - but this one is much better than the Imperial, Hopszilla.

Heavily hopped but managing to maintain a very pleasant rounded taste. Full flavors and a fair bit of grapefruit in the aroma. Good.

27/VII/14 - 12Fl. Oz. @ pre-Gentse-Feesten-Ponton-Tasting - BB: week 3/VIII/14 (2014-847) Thanks to Dominiek for the bottle!

Clear deep orange beer, aery off-white head, bit creamy, adhesive. aroma: bit floral, soapy touch, yeast notes, peaches. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, very malty, some honey, bit of citrus, bitter hops, bit of exotic fruits. Aftertaste: sweet malt profile, hoppy, caramel. Decent, but probably much better when fresh(er).

Pours clear amber color. Fantastic head retention and lacing throughout the session. Aroma is honey, floral hoppiness, bready malt. Flavor is well balanced between the malt and hops. It is not bitter despite the advertised 78 IBU’s. Slick, creamy mouthfeel, no aftertaste. A solid IPA.

Bottle from Gbbf 2014 and drunk on a train. Clear dark amber colour lasting cream head. Strong piney resiny hop aroma. Decent straight diwn the line American ipa. Requisite hops flavours and supporting malt. Slightly malty than hoppy. Fine but not much to make it stand out. Growing bitterness on the finish is good.

Well as the label obviously implies, this hop-heavy IPA goes for overkill, and apparently is not interested in balancing out that flavor. That being said there is still noticeable malty background to the strong Pacific hop flavors. Also it isn't so much bitter as it is just a more intense hop profile. Almost could pass as a double IPA. Beyond taste, appearance and aroma are standard for the style. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Strong resin finish. Good but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it again. On a food pairing note, seems like it would pair well with fish and chips or other "pub food" entrees.
