Black pour with a little light khaki cap. Nose is sweet and creamy with milk chocolate and sweet custard. Flavor is the same, some vanilla custard and delightful milk chocolate tone. Would do better if the body were more full. But really tasty and creamy-chocolaty.

Pours black with a thin film of khaki colored head. Smells like straight chocolate syrup and vanilla extract. Very sweet with a silky mouthfeel. Very enjoyable if you’re up for a chocolate beer.

2013 Seasonal, 12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Black hue, zero visibility with mostly diminishing caramel head. No lacing. Malt, vanilla and mild chocolate on the nose. Bitter malt and light chocolate up front, more malt and some vanilla on the finish. I thought this was lacking on the chocolate taste that I was looking for. I tried this last year and wasn’t impressed, I wasn’t excited this time either. I will not bother trying this again next year.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. 2013 batch. It was a gift. The pour is about the darkest of browns as a beer can get nearly teetering on black but not entirely there. Whoa! Check out that milk chocolate on the nose. Lots of it. Followed more distantly by malts and a hint of earthy hops. Medium to bold body. It tastes like I am standing in the Hershey Chocolate Factory in Pennsylvania. Chocolate galore. Milky. Mildly bitter. This is something else.

Bottle. Smells like a chocolate bar in a bottle. Super big smooth creamy chocolate flavor. Do yourself a favor and track this down.

Pours used motor oil black with a normal amount of head and lacing. Lacing lasts a normal amount of time. Moderate nose of sweet and dark chocolate over a faint roast. Slightly less than medium bodied with normal carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. The taste is a bit subdued, but of chocolate over a very light roast and sweetness. A smooth, yet clean, finish that hints of roast. This would be a good starter stout, but falls short of excellence - more body and flavor are needed.

Drank from bottle. Smells like a Hershey’s chocolate bar. Taste has a lot of chocolate to it. The aftertaste reminds me of chocolate milk. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Good beer

Fresh bottle. Aroma is chocolate, chocolate malt. Taste is sweet chocolate, cream, malt, lactose, vanilla. Creamy mouthfeel but it does not linger. The Wake and Bake is better for a middle ABV stout.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a Boulevard tulip glass. Pours a deep black with a faint brown hue when held up to light. Light brown head that disappears fairly quickly. Aroma is subdued milk chocolate with some type of off-putting scent in the background that I just can?t place. Taste is bitter in the front with yoohoo/chocolate milk shortly after. There’s also a little more roasted malt than should be in a brew like this. The chocolate milk taste is not nearly as strong as I thought it would be, given the name and label. Mouthfeel is thinner than I would like, and the carbonation could be a little more prominent. It?s not the greatest milk stout I?ve ever had, however, with some tweaks, this could be an incredible milk stout.

You can smell coco beans, but the aroma is surprisingly mild. The look is very dark, but it tastes too watery for my tastes. I was expecting better.
