Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of sincereNC. Pours a pitch black with a tiny beige head. Sweet roasty nose. Medium body, sweet roast - very sweet - the lactose really comes through here. Quite some raisin. No bitterness. Very much a Milk Stout. 190412

Chocolate milk stout beer....huh? Figured could be okay. Dark dark pour with quick dissipation of a tan head. Smells of chocolate, burnt sugar, marshmallows, and maybe some coffee. Taste is right about there too. The highly fizzy mouth feel kind of threw me off. Didn’t quite sit right with me and was a bit metallic. Sort of like a chocolate soda. Interesting, but not my favorite milk stout.

Bottle. Very dark brown pour with a tan head. Thick looking pour but the palate is a bit more thin than it looks. Nose and taste of milk chocolate and slight coffee.

2010 vintage. Pours a deep black with tan head. Nose and taste are chocolate, coffee, lactos. Very smooth, balanced and easy drinking. Very chocolate which is good, weird fizzy mouth feel was a bit off putting.

Bottle. Black with a thin-medium brown head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, and a little coffee, somewhat metallic. Taste is sweet, mild bitter, with chocolate, caramel, burnt sugar, and some nice roasted flavors. Surprisingly bitter, slightly metallic finish. Medium bodied, smooth texture, medium carbonation.

Bottle. The best recreation of chocolate milk I’ve had in a beer...in a good way. Nose is some baker’s chocolate, but not particularly strong. Black as night with a firm tan head that fades to a tiny cap on top. A creamy, roasty body that reminds me of Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, but then a large helping of milk chocolate rolls onto the palate. Long, evolving finish of very creamy coffee. Not a beer to have multiples of, but excellent use of chocolate to create a deliciously drinkable beer, and not cloyingly sweet like some of this type...say Choklat.
