First pour has a small head, not quite what I had expected. Aroma hints of evergreens, expresso, and chocolate. Smooth mouth feel, taste bitter chocolate, citrus, juniper, whiskey and coffee. All around a good stout went well with BBQ chicken. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes: Poured opaque ink-black, with a 1-finger dark tan head. Aroma is mild; dairy mixed with cocoa. Medium body, with a slightly dry finish. Creamy flavor up front giving way to some sweet malt. The chocolate then shows in the finish and lingers nicely. Different, but really good.

Excellent stout! Great alternative to my all time favorite Left Hand Milk Stout. Definitely try this.

Bottle shared by a friend. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Smoky and roasty nose with some lactose and chocolate. Lactose and chocolate flavor with a lot of smoke in the finish.

Bottle. Pours as you’d expect for something with such an evocative name. Thick as chocolate syrup, with a rich bittersweet aroma. It drinks like spiked milk chocolate -- rich and sweet, but running with a wicked bite, almost whiskey like. Nice night cap. (#4615, 6/15/2011)

Acquired this in a trade since Terrapin is not too common up here. Poured out of the fridge into a wine glass.

A - Poured a dark brown to black. In the glass, it looks pitch black. One finger head produced that was a coffee coulour with itty bitty tiny bubbles.

S - Very creamy scent. Very malt forward like any great stout should have. Bits of oak and walnuts. Mild berry scent.

T - Wow. Yeah, great milk chocolate taste, nice level of mocha and sweetness. Solid caramel and of course the standard tastes you’d get from a stout. Surprisingly great for a 6% beer.

M - 100% carbonation on the mouth swish. medium body with a very fleeting nutty finish.

O - This is pretty great! I always love Terrapin beers and this doesn’t disappoint.

Pours a nice thick black from the bottle with dissipating brown head and decent lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate and slight coffee. Taste is pretty much all cocoa, with a nice finish and clean mouth. Great chocolate stout.

Bottle. Pours black with two fingers of tan head. Aroma is about as chocolate forward as possible with a hint of coffee. the taste reminds me of a yoohoo so this is aptly titled. Very sweet and very enjoyable. This is about as chocolate milk as a beer can be. The palate is fairly thin but in line with milk stouts in general. Overall, awesome.

Very milk chocolately here, the beer is good, a gimmick, but very good. I like this one a lot better than southern tier choklat. This one still tastes like a stout somewhere in there.

Bottle from wine warehouse. Pours black with a smal khaki head. Nice dark chocolate notes on the nose. The chocolate on the tongue is combined with a roasted quality that is quite fetching. There’s a bit of sweetness as well but it’s never cloying. Clean finish. This is some good stuff.
