Bottle. The best recreation of chocolate milk Iíve had in a beer...in a good way. Nose is some bakerís chocolate, but not particularly strong. Black as night with a firm tan head that fades to a tiny cap on top. A creamy, roasty body that reminds me of Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, but then a large helping of milk chocolate rolls onto the palate. Long, evolving finish of very creamy coffee. Not a beer to have multiples of, but excellent use of chocolate to create a deliciously drinkable beer, and not cloyingly sweet like some of this type...say Choklat.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from 12 oz. bottle.
Opaque nearly black dark brown with tiny head that quickly settled to a thin cocoa brown film. Good lacing.
Aroma of intense cocoa powder. Oats and roasted malts as well.
Taste is much like the aroma, chocolate syrup flavor with mild roasted malt flavor at the finish.
Medium in body with fair carbonation and mouth foaminess.
An interesting milk stout enfused with a sweet chocolate. Full of flavor but not overdone. Just the right amount of chocolate and sweetness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours dark brown/black with nice brown head. Aroma mainly malts with a bit of roast, didnít get a lot of chocolate. Taste fairly straightforward sweet stout with a little chocolate, dark malts, roast, milk sugars. Finish mild chocolate and dark malts. Palate good for the style fairly thick and creamy. Alcohol not apparent.
Looking forward to this one but although it is a solid beer I canít see making much of a fuss over it.

Big thanks to alefish for this extra - poured from the bottle to snifter:
Pours nearly black with a nice healthy, frothy brown finger of head. Terrific lacing. The nose is sweet - milk chocolate, oats, roasty malts, cereal. Taste is very smooth, the name of this beer couldnít be more fitting. Itís a hearty, seemingly English style stout laced with chocolate milk. This would be a hell of a beer to wake up to. Not overly sweet whatsoever. Good and drinkable - very grateful that I got a chance to try this one.

i enjoyed this beer a lot, both for what it was and for what it wasnít. It thankfully didnít have the lactose feel, but did have an aroma that truely reminded me of chocolate milk, supplemented by the taste. Of course this is a beer, and had some smoky hints as well. Deep black hue with tiny golden carbonation and almost no head. A great combination and a great stout!

12 ounce bottle
This bottle called from the singles shelf and so it followed me home from a vacation. Having an opportunity to chill one evening I fished it out of the fridge. It is a different interpretation of the sweet stout but it works. Assuming this was not some sort of one off experiment it should do well in future years.
Aroma / Appearance - Oily black and slick, the pour coats the glass along with an ivory head. Chocolate and coffee are together in a proportion that suggests someone poured Yoo-hoo Chocolate Milk into a cup of coffee.
Flavor / Palate - Sweet velvet chocolate warms the palate. The milky aftertaste is accompanied by a mild bitterness and the texture of a melted candy bar. This may be the best Terrapin beer Iíve ever tried. I hope it doesnít take so long to get to another one.

Great freaking beer. Terrapin really knows how to work chocolate into itís beers better than most. This beer is creamy, rich, milky, chocolaty good. Some mellow mocha and coffee but the roast is subdued. Great beer. Hope they keep making this.
