UPDATED: DEC 7, 2012 Pours a very rich deep brown into a tulip glass. With a thick head that is tan and very bubbly - the beers full body is quite appealing. Scents of coffee, hops, and sweet sweet chocolate. This beer tasted great, the mild carbonation brought out the bitter coffee taste, while the sweet chocolate aftertaste gave it overall great balance. I will note that most beers that say or have chocolate in it - none were as sweet as this one.

Bottle - Pours mahogany with a thin tan head. Smells milky, with coffee, irish creme, hazelnut, and charcoal. Taste is sweet, lactic roast, medium bitterness, coffee grounds, and a bit of dark chocolate. Smooth, full-bodied, and nicely carbonated.

Bottle hooked yup by peter to celebrate my being lame. Nice foamy tan head. Aroma of coffee, cream, cocoa. Nuts. Sweet sugar milk chocolate drink. A tad chalky. A touch too much cane candy sugar in the taste. Nice body. Not overly sweet. Good attenuation. Nice.

Thanks LOU, this was a hit at the monthly Houston BA tasting.. . Pours a dark brown, medium foam .. . love that retarded horse .. . sweet chocolate, bark, sweet bark, fireflies and brown sugar .. . very smooth, and pure .. . moohoo .. Today I dialed a wrong number... The other person said, "Hello?" and I said, "Hello, could I speak to Joey?"... They said, "Uh... I don’t think so... he’s only 2 months old." I said, "I’ll wait."

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2012 Rerate 1-9-2012. Draft. Pours a dark black with tan head. Aroma is of sweet milk chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is super smooth and creamy with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, roasted malts. This was either better on draft, the 2011 tastes better or my palate changed this year, as this was much better than I remember. Super smooth sipper. Bottle 2010. Pours dark with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt and sweet chocolate. Taste of solid milk chocolate laced with dark malts. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty nice sweet stout to be enjoyed sparingly. 3.4
