Draft at Brass Tap. Dark chocolate brown pour with a foamy tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate along with roasted malt, coffee, and more chocolate. The chocolate dominates the flavor as well. Mostly sweet but some hints of bitterness.

12oz bottle. Pours opaque ebony with medium dark tan head - light patches/streaks of lace are left on the glass. The aroma is chocolate with hints of sweetened coffee and tangy malt. Flavor starts with a touch of roast, sweet tangy caramelly malts, and chocolate. There is a fruity ester character at mid-palate and through to the finish. The chocolate character fades towards the back of the palate into a lacto-sweet, roasty, and estery finish. The mouthfeel is quite moderate, almost low, in carbonation - which provides a nice, smooth and creamy texture to the brew. Overall, a decent and drinkable brew - exactly as described - chocolate milk stout.

12oz bottle. Poured a opaque, near black brown with a small brown head that goes away fast. Aroma: milk chocolate, coca beans, mild coffee, mild roasted malts. Taste: milk chocolate, coca beans, mild burnt coffee, faint passing notes of sour milk. Medium body, creamy texture. Decent depth, excellent balance. Overall a really good Milk Stout.

This poured a darker brown color with a very small light tan head. Aroma was very subdued, some chocolate tootsie rolls and lightly roasted malts. Flavor was a bit better than the aroma but still a bit disappointing. Mainly consisted of sweeter light chocolate and caramel and loghtly roasted, a bit hollow and watery though.

black pour with a thin tan head, full aroma of malt and mocha, slight acidity to the taste, but the sweetness mellows it out, almost like a hint of kahlua, very creamy, astringent finish with very little lingering aftertaste

Pint at Tyler’s in Durham. Pours an opaque dark brown color, nearly black, with a small tan head that laces the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, mild coffee, chocolate, milk sugar, and cream- exactly what you’d expect, and done nicely. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, milk sugar, brown sugar, toast, dates, and earth. Medium-bodied, with a roasty, creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A little acidity in both nose and mouth, but it’s faint. Excellent milk stout.
