3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed 12/23/2012. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a very dark brown color. Itís not quite as ultra-opaque as the WnB I had just before this, but itís still dark enough to block out the light. The head is a two finger mocha shade with meh retention. There is a bit of lace left on the glass, at least.
S: Surprisingly nutty in terms of aroma. There also seems to be a combination of roasted and charred malts, as well. I donít really pick up a lot of chocolate on the nose.
T: Wait, did I say that I donít pick up a lot of chocolate aromatically? Because the chocolate is really battering the palate here. It opens the flavor profile like a wrecking ball - almost as if Terrapin melted a 70% dark cocoa bar into the beer before bottling it. The midtaste brings a lot of lactic cream in a balanced manner. Itís sweet enough to make this a slow sipper rather than a chugger or even a gulper. At least the lactose never comes across as being acidic, sour, or harsh.
M: The body comes across as thicker and more syrupy than it really is, which I would attribute to the finishing cream flavor. Thereís some finishing astringency, too, but itís not dry enough finish-wise to balance it out. Carbonation is mediocre.
O: I feel like milk stouts are the Tito Jackson of the stout family - but this one hits my chocolate tooth enough to separate it from the pack. Totally rock solid as long as you donít expect it to be WnB.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, my wife smuggled home from Florida. A very light and thin bodied stout. The chocolate seems very artificial and forced. Almost yoo-hoo like, not the chocolate milk i was hoping for. W-N-B is very good, this isnt.

Had this son of a gun in a 12 oz bottle. Pours out black with a slight off-white head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee. With the taste you get chocolate mixed with vanilla. A classic milk stout taste but it packs a huge chocolate feel at the end of each sip. Iíve had this beer a few times now and it never disappoints. In my honest opinion, one of my favorite milk stouts.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not the first time I tried this beer. First time I remembered to rate it. Pours deep dark brown with a slight hint of Auburn. Scent is roasted and uber chocolately. Flavor is sweet followed by a slight pleasant savoriness. Thick like a milkshake. Mmm mmm good. Draft - Trappeze Pub - Athens, GA

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a deep black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malts, and chocolate. Flavor is a roasty burnt malt bitterness with a light chocolatey sweetness. Light to medium in body with a lingering chocolatey bittersweet character. Delicious.

Pours DARK with a thin tannish head that fades quickly leaving some lacing on the glass. Honestly smells like chocolate milk mixed with Guinness, and thatís not a bad thing. Aroma is on the lighter side compared to most stouts. Taste is faint chocolate, cream, coffee grounds, a some light bitterness. Very drinkable stout but lacks the complexity I like to see from this style. Iím a big fan of stouts and milk stouts. Iíd say this is a "middle of the pack" kind of beer. Doesnít really having anything particularly impressive about it but itís enjoyable and easy to drink.
