4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Dark chocolate color with a foamy head. Aroma is pleasant that allows the malt and hops smells to come wonderfully through. Taste is smooth and sweet like a milk stout should be. This is truely an awesome beer.

1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Vintage Winter 2010
A: It was odd, I pried the top with vigor and a loud audible pop came. Then, I poured the beer, about halfway through, I realized this was a full glass...of foam. There were four full fingers in my NB globe (since there werenít room for five), then I had to start scooping spoonfuls of beer into the sink. This wasnít a speedy foaming, more like a Duvel, slow and continuous. Then I finally got to pour the remaining four ounces into the glass and had to repeat the same process. Ended up with about eight ounces of the total beer in the glass. The head remained a two solid fingers of mocha foam. Brown and dark. No visible clarity. Lacing is near cobweb.
S: Dark chocolate chips, oats, hints of copper, some roasted malts. A bit earthy smell. As this warms up, and the carb lets up a hair, the chocolate comes through a little better.
T: Quite a bit of copper flavor here. Not too impressed with the flavor on this one - sadly does not resemble the nose at all. Not sure whatís off here, gonna assume the early onset of an infection based on the carbonation issue. I canít really pick anything out except maybe some faint tones of coffee grounds and soil. No cocoa.
EDIT: as this warms and I shake the shit out of this beer to kill some carb, the cocoa starts to come through, as well as a sweet, sucralose flavor. Not enough to save this one though.
M: The beer immediately turns to foam in the mouth, and barely returns to liquid in a couple minutes. Not much of a finish here either. Pretty disappointed here.
O: Iím pretty certain there is something off on this one. Too bad, I like this brewery.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours out black with a thin brown head. Aroma is a mild moo hoo milk chocolate and dark chocolate malt and mild roasted flavor with a light roasted malt bitterness on the end. The palate is a medium sweet creamy body with moderate carbonation. The finish is a sweet moo hoo milk chocolate, a bit of roasted chocolate malt and a mild roasty bitterness on the end that lingers. The aroma and taste become more pronounced as it warms up. Overall a very good not overly sweet, nicely balanced holiday brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16oz pour at City Tap House DC. Pours an inky black with some spitty beige head. Nose is heavy with chocolate syrup, some cocoa nib too, malt, molasses, toast. Flavor is very sweet, malted chocolate balls, vanilla, molasses, a little licorice. Medium bodied, sweet finish. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Opaque chestnut body with a short and dense brown paper bag colored head.
Aroma: Rather weak aroma that has sweet milky chocolate without much else going on. The chocolate doesnít stand out very much either, itís as if itís fighting to show itself.
Taste: Muddy malts, nothing is easily discerned. Chocolate milk is the most present flavor with a very light roast and hints of fruity esters on the finish. The finish lingers of chocolate milk with a mild sweetness.
Palate: Near full-bodied with mild carbonation.
Overall: This is not a bad beer, but nothing pops out. It suffers from being muddy. What really hurts this beer is itís price to quality ratio when comparing it to Lancaster and Left Handís Milk Stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Beer shared at Small Batch. Pours oily black. Full aroma of dark chocolate syrup and lactose. Rich flavor of adult chocolate milk. Creamy, appropriate level of sweetness, and silky chocolate. Simple, to the point, delicious, successful as hell. Good Lord, Iím back to my days of pounding a Yoohoo with Hubbard as we cross the threshold at Crystalís party, only Iím drunk!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, my wife smuggled home from Florida. A very light and thin bodied stout. The chocolate seems very artificial and forced. Almost yoo-hoo like, not the chocolate milk i was hoping for. W-N-B is very good, this isnt.
