4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. heavy malt aromas of dark bread, roasted and caramel, moderate hop note of cooked orange, light leather for the yeast, with raisin, wood, brown sugar and alcohol in the background. Head is tiny, frothy, off-white with some slippery lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is dark red/brown. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweet, lightly acidic and has a long bitterness at the end. Palate is medium t full, creamy with a soft carbonation and is moderately alcoholic and chewy in the finish. This beer leans more towards a Barley Wine than a DIPA, with that said this is one tasty beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great IPA with some of the best tasting malt Iíve had in any beer. Oaky, hoppy. Really a treat.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark red with a thick off white head. Aroma is vanilla with some resin pine hops. Flavor is a big hit of vanilla oak followed by a bit of resinous hops. Very mellow finish with a touch of sweet malt.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle, compliments of Sutree, poured into a Sam perfect pint. Beautiful blood orange color with thin off white head which almost completely disappears and leave virtually no lacing. Scent of oak, gingerbread cookies and hops. Some booziness on the nose. Initial flavor is oak which melts away into resiny hops and mellow boozy finish. Medium/ light on the palate. I expected a thicker more oily coating on the tongue. Although this is a great beer, I think that I was just expecting a bit more complexity.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle in celebration of Roger Ebertís life (perhaps the first of several bottles this week). Nose explodes with fresh hops, heavy pine with some resin, bright citric accents, heavily caramel, some dough, a little dank. Some etoh seeping out, faint spice, faint vanilla, but otherwise minimal barrel. Pours a hazy amber-brown with a clingy tan head. Strong bitterness but balanced by strong sweetness, dripping with leafy hops and dull resin. Strips the palate a little bit, but strong caramel with dankness and pine, very strong alcohol heft but no burn, and despite the slight added depression, the alcohol presence doesnít drag everything else down, and some of the citric notes shine through brightly. Still, a bit of muddle. Full body.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle shared by drsordr. Pours a hazy amber color with a small yellow beige head. The aroma is more like a barley wine with sweet malts, wood and vanilla over some fruits and floral hops. The flavor has oak, caramel, vanilla, fruits with the hops only adding bitterness. Not bad, but I was expecting more.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice amber red color. Smells of caramel with hop notes. The taste is caramel, citrus, hops, and I can taste notes of the oak in the after taste. Very gerthy but very tasty.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Alex. Copper colored pour with a khaki head. Very, very sweet aroma. Lots of caramel and brown sugar. Some pineapple, grapefruit, oak, and vanilla. A touch of booze on the nose as well. The flavor is quite sweet, but there is also a nice fruit note to it. Pineapple and grapefruit bite, light pine, and a fair amount of oak. Heavy doses of caramel and brown sugar sweetness, too.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pour cloudy amber with brown hues. Nose mostly malty barleywine. Taste some initial tannin from the wood, then bitterness and sweet malt. Seems that the hops only add bitterness, no aroma or flavor.
