Black as night, rich, full bodied, and loaded with coffee taste and aroma. It pours with a creamy brown head and has a mouthfeel that is velvety smooth. It includes Coasta Rican coffee roasted by J. Martinez coffee roasters in Atlanta. This 7.5% abv cask version has been aged for over a month on French vanilla oak chips.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a thick black with a thin, bubbly head of foam. Aroma has nice coffee and raisin malty notes. Taste is earthy coffee and dark fruit sweetness. Thick mouthfeel. Good stuff. Thank you generous trader.

Oh wow this beer is great. Aroma is a wonderful blend of coffee and an oatmeal backbone. This coffee aroma is a great roast. Taste is coffee and chocolate. Very smooth but so much flavor is packed in here. The head on this beer was a dark brown, very pretty. At almost completely opaque black this beer is very good.

On tap at Kickbacks. Big stout aroma. A sipper: with wine character, fruitiness, and coconut. Black, little head, this one was aged a while.

I really enjoyed this coffee..... imp stout. Light brown head, decent lacing. Big coffee notes in the nose and very dark appearance. This is what I was expecting with this one. Great imp coffee stout.

Tastes like a milk stout coffee combination. Lovely roasted coffee tones that are not overdone with a lovely sweetness.

Draft at Kickbacks, served in a Unibroue tulip. 2009 vintage. Pours a deep, opaque brown - near black - with an inch of creamy dark tan head that laces the glass for a while. The aroma is very oaky, with oatmeal, chocolate, dust, pumpernickel, and old coffee beans. Flavor of oak, chocolate, roast, oats, and rich, sweet dark bread. Full-bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel that finishes a little chalky. Mellow carbonation. Solid imperial stout; I’d be interested to try a fresher vintage of the Oaked version.

A delicious blend of coffee and imperial awesomeness... I perfect end to a long day at work. It is the molten chocolate cake of beers, the tastes cary from note to note until your pallet is exhausted

Tap @ Cypress St. Black pour with mocha head. Aroma was more subtle than the regular WnB. Hints of coffee, cocoa and light wood. Flavors were just the same. Similar to the regular with small notes of vanilla and wood. More wood in the finish than anything else. All around subtle and tasty. Smooth mouthfeel, nice job.

On tap at Kickbacks. 2009 vintage. Pours jet black with tan head. Aroma is coffee and a little sweetness. First taste is roasted coffee along with a little chocolate sweetness. As it warms you can get the oatmeal as well as the vanilla flavor from the oak. Very smooth on the palate and finishes nice and warm but nowhere near overpowering at 7.5%.

From an old tasting note. Not sure where I tried it. sweetens smooths and vanillas out the rough edges on the regular wake-n-bake. Liked it very much, but still would lean toward the original.
