COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pumpkin beers have been an American tradition since the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock while Oktoberfest beers have been brewed in Germany since not long after Prince Ludwig got hitched in 1810. Now Terrapin is “carving” out our own special brew by combining these two great styles into a unique PUMPKINFEST beer...This Side Project has all the complex maltiness of a great Oktoberfest lager with the delicate spiciness of grandma’s fresh baked pumpkin pie.

Formerly Terrapin Side Project Pumpkinfest.

Rated from notes taken 28 Dec 2012 -- Terrapin has a pretty strong offering in the realm of pumpkin beers. I could drink this any night in fall/winter. I’m a big fan.

Bottle from Total Wine in Orlando, FL. Pours rather orange with a slight white head. Light pie spice aroma. It’s fairly strong spice. Perhaps heavy on clove. like it for strong flavor with a firm malt backbone to carry it. Very tasty for such a low ABV.

Huhzubendah (2615) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 3, 2014
The beer is bright orange with just a mild haze. Beige head that settles as a thin ring on top. Aromas of lager, fall spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg with some squash character. A bit sweet, but not too. An interesting take on a fall seasonal, going the lager route as opposed to the typical ale choice. Crisp finish with a subtle hop bitterness. A solid beer, especially if you’re a fan of Oktoberfest and/or pumpkin brews.

The aroma contains pumpkin, auspice, cinnamon. It a bit cloudy amber with an slight orange hue. It’s lively with dominate pumpkin flavor and weak remnants of the other spices.

A fairly bland offering as far as a pumpkin goes. As a matter of fact, I was handed this and tried it blind, and I didn’t know it was a pumpkin ale.
