COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pumpkin beers have been an American tradition since the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock while Oktoberfest beers have been brewed in Germany since not long after Prince Ludwig got hitched in 1810. Now Terrapin is “carving” out our own special brew by combining these two great styles into a unique PUMPKINFEST beer...This Side Project has all the complex maltiness of a great Oktoberfest lager with the delicate spiciness of grandma’s fresh baked pumpkin pie.

Formerly Terrapin Side Project Pumpkinfest.

Deep orange color, smells like pumpkin beer with a bit more nutmeg than normal. Taste is same with a nice hop bite. One of the better pumpkin beers.

I had Pumpkinfest on cask. Nicely balanced pumpkin pie flavors - not too sweet, not too strong. Aftertaste is a little off but doesn’t detract too much. Nice deep orange color.

Another October brings me another pumpkin beer to try out, and I have not really liked any just yet. Hazy amber/copper colored beer with an off-white head. Strong aromas of spices, and pumpkin pie. Tastes of some caramel, hints of brown sugar, nutmeg, some mint, and fresh pumpkin pie. Not too sweet, and not too herbal. Nicely balanced. Bittersweet pumpkin flavor in finish along with some herbal hops. While it was not a bad beer I just had a hard time finishing one bottle by myself.

Pours a brownish golden color. Medium head. No lacing. Smells a lot like my wife’s pumpkin bread. Great fall beer. Taste is well balanced with sweet malts, fall spices, pumpkin, and light hops. Clean and crisp.

Fall in a glass, and what a great idea to combined two of the great styles. This is a match made in seasonal heaven, and it’s very well done. It’s not in-your-face like an imperial would be but you can still taste the quality with the drinkability. As the beer warms, you get more of the nose and things open up so don’t serve it too chilled. Great addition to any fall lovers tasting.

Pours a cloudy amber with a thin layer of off-white head. Aroma is pungent cinnamon spice with some sourness as well. The spices carry well in this beer and do not overwhelm the sweet malty backbone. I personally like my pumpkin beers a little more malt heavy but this one has enough to make a nice and rich pumpkin beer.
