3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2013 I love supporting Terrapin and their Hopsecutioner is a great brew but I was pretty disappointed with this offering. However, after getting several friends to try it and ALL of them saying they liked it, I gave it another try. It must have been a bad tasting day the first time as I bought a case this past weekend.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with an off white head and excellent lacing. Aroma is very hoppy. Floral and citrus. The taste is like biting into a grapefruit. Resinous and dry. Clean palette Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12-ounce can at Tedís in Athens. Pours a dense amber with fine-bubble white head. Intense citrusy aroma. Medium body. Big hop bitterness matched to big hop flavor. Serious grapefruit character into finish. Alcohol might be moderated but intense flavors seem to preclude this from beeing labeled a "session" beer. Nice job for what it does though.

At GABF. Weenie yellow color but huge hop and chocolate malt presence, far bigger than likely in a session IPA. Terrif.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Honey, pine, and marigold bouquet, nice strength. Clear amber, medium lacy head. Dry mild grass flavor initially but a moderate intensification of marigold notes occurs. Sessionable with heaps of aromatic hops. Nicely done for what it is intended to be.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear amber gold with a foamy white head that subsides down to a 1/4 inch film.
Aroma: Nice fruity nose. Candied orange, grapefruit essence, brown sugar.
Taste: Clean citrusy hops. Mild pine bitterness. Lightly toasted malt with subtle sweetness. Hoppy but not bitter. Must be something like citra.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Average carbonation.
Overall: The perfect combo for me: hoppy and drinkable. This isnít in the same vein as Drakeís Alpha Session or some of the other highly hopped ďSession IPAsĒ, but equally good. The can is always a nice touch, especially with a delicate beer like this.
