3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2013 I love supporting Terrapin and their Hopsecutioner is a great brew but I was pretty disappointed with this offering. However, after getting several friends to try it and ALL of them saying they liked it, I gave it another try. It must have been a bad tasting day the first time as I bought a case this past weekend.

Not a horrible session ipa. But not going to be my go to. Okay nose. Decent mouthfeel with a light tropical end note. But a bit thin. Impressive head and appearance. Not a dumper but okay.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Lightly hazed pale gold with a white head. First whiff smells like a hop bag, like literally it smells like a bag of pellets: grassy, resinous, "dank", etc. As it breathes and warms there’s some more action: pine needles, pet urine, diesel, onion, some fruity-tropical notes, that sort of thing. Yeah it smells like hops but it smells like the worst representation of hops imaginable. Medium-light bodied, off-dry, strongly bitter, body is a little filmy and rough at the same time, the whole effect is stark and unpleasant, and I can’t get past the Christmas tree / cat piss smell.

Thin in the body, one dimensional in the mouth. Had high hopes for this one. While not bad I was a bit underwhelmed.

12 ounce can. Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head of foam. Good retention. The aroma has grassy, citrusy, floral notes. The taste is mildly bitter, but the sweeter hop profiles bring it together and balance it out. Light body and medium carbonation. Pretty good, easy drinking beer.

Not understanding the high scores for this, overly tart, slightly metallic. Tart, metallic finish. Funky aroma. Not impressed.

Fantastic session ale. I recommend "can" only as the kegs can often times have oxidized flavors.
Creamy head with a light golden body, hop flavors are light and not too bitter and balance out well with the malt. Very refreshing and the lower ABV makes it great for outdoor activities and events.
Excellent almost citrus and malt like aromas are faint but balanced. Light overall flavors.
