3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle of unknown origin but still fresh. Awesome caramel color pour with a big, foamy tan head. Big aroma of hops, honey and sweet malt. Flavor reminds me of an American styled barley wine. Fine.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Dark orange pour with a frothy beige head. Aroma of pineapple and tangerine. Taste is fruity with notes of tangerine and pineapple upfront but a sweet rye bill balances the overall flavor. Alcohol somewhat present. Surprisingly thin bodied. A good DIPA but the aroma is the best part.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from Carlson. Pours dark orange, with a beige ring and some lacing. Some serious rye going on here, with some butterscotch and juniper. Sticky sweetness, with a light bitterness. Heavy body, syrupy, and thick. Overall, this is true to the name. Lots of rye, and low hoppiness. Not bad!

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a deep amber copper color with a half finger of eggshell foam. Nose is caramel, some rye doughy bread, sweet citrus and floral honey. Palate is sticky and sweet with lots of boozy bitterness and some spicy maltiness that lingers. Not my thing, too sweet.

Golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is pine hops with a bit of rye. Flavor is piney and sweet with just a touch of a bite. Finish is a little sweet and dry. Not bad.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014 12 oz bottle in a pint glass.
Deep amber with a durable, creamy head.
Aroma: grassy, flowery and spicy with a hint of bread.
Flavor: wow, all the hops you’d expect in a DIPA (at least from the Eastern U.S.), and a load of balancing swet malts. This even tastes a touch sweet for just a moment near the finish but is overall mildly bitter.
Feel: very smooth and full for style.
O: excellent DIPA, especially for those who prefer limited bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Slightly hazy copper, with rather thin white head. Big caramel and toffee aroma, with notes of pine and grapefruit. Taste is toffee and molasses, with nicely dry pine finish. Some alcohol heat, too.
