slf245 (50), USA Apr 3, 2009 Golden color with a slight bite to it. Okay, glad to have tried, but won’t need to buy again. noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Mar 29, 2009 Thanks daknole. Pours a clear pale copper amber with a large, sticky, off-white head. Floral hops aroma mingled with bread crusts. Tasty, but to me the abundant hops aren’t harmonized well with the sourdough bread malt backbone. Medium body, soft and foamy on the palate. viet959 (68), , Georgia, USA Mar 29, 2009 Tested including Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Bass Pale Ale, and Terraping Rye Pale Ale. Pours a slightly light copper color with nice head. Aroma of nice kinda floral hops and caramel malt. Taste- I guess of rye(new flavor to me), has an "earthy?" taste, malty, bitter hops. Overall- It’s pretty good, it has the biggest flavor of the 3, and the best aroma. It’s the most bitter of the 3. I give this 2st place because it’s not quite a balanced as Sierra. raradel (32), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Mar 27, 2009 Great smooth beer, smells nice, tastes great, clean palate. One of my favorite of this kind, give it a try, its a southern treat. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Mar 27, 2009 Bottle @ chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Pours a clear golden color wit ha small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with some hints of rye. Sweetish rye malty hoppy flavor. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Mar 25, 2009 Bottle. Hazy gold with a firm white head. Not as much Rye aroma as the squared, lots of grapefruit. Nicely floral and bitter, rye and caraway. Itzjerm (70), Harvest, Alabama, USA Mar 22, 2009 VERY strong hop flavor... very aromatic. Reminds me of a bathroom cleaner. Very strong. If you like hops maybe... not for me. If you like the smooth rye whisky... rye beer is no where near. barleynhops (82), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Mar 19, 2009 Bottle: Pours an amber-ish brown with little to no lacing. Smells of citrus and hops. Tastes of malts and breads, very little hops included. Leaves the palate bland and weak. Very discouraged.
