Frauditor (148), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Jun 17, 2008 good drinkable beer for a hot sunny day. tune into the grateful dead channel on sirius radio and hang out on the water somewhere with a six pack of these. Nice dry-hoppy taste that drains crisply into a peppery bitter aftertaste. pretty good. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Jun 15, 2008 Amber body, a thick soapy beige head. The aroma starts off with a toasted hop character, rye bread, and a bit of maltiness. Dry bitter flavor is interrupted with a sweet malt before a dry hoppy finish. Body is a little weak and wanting. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 15, 2008 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Hazy golden with an of-white head. Aroma of overripe fruit and aroma hops. Medium body with fruit and caramel accents before a fairly bitter finish. 130608 Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 Bottle at Oelbaren, Copenhagen. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head (though I poured hard). Aroma is hoppy & fresh - clearly cascade. Taste has a little rye
& is dominated by hops - citrussy, fresh, crisp & hoppy. Very dry lasting bitter end! mullet2007 (198), St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada Jun 10, 2008 Bottle from dchmela. Pours a really nice copper color with a thin and creamy head that’s a little darker than off-white. Smell is a little bit soapy, and nicely hoppy, but not citrusy, more pine-ish and flowery. Flavour is similar, hoppy with strong hints of pine. It’s a little bit spicy, and sharp, which I guess is the flavour of rye? This is the first rye beer I’ve had, so I’m not really sure. Finish is bitter and has a bit of an earthy taste. As it sits for a bit, it gets smoother, but still with that sharp, bitter, spicy finish. Mouthfeel is a little creamy, carbonation seems high, but I don’t think it is, mostly just the sharp flavour that’s present in the beer. On the whole, not too bad, but a bit intense on the sharp spicyness. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2008 A little better than the golden ale. A little more complex but nothing to write home about. If this was the only beer option I would drink it again but not going out of my way for it. beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Jun 6, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with GAManiac. Pours a clear coppery gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through three-quarters of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of citrus and rye grain. The flavor is a bit more resinous with more notes of pine and less citrus. Rye malt is the supporting backbone. Moderately bitter at the finish. Solid pale ale. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2008 On Tap at World Of Beer Tampa. This was a big surprise. Very IPA like in the nose and mouth. Very bright and floral hoppiness. Good balance. With the huge hop character in the nose the bitterness wasn’t astringent or puckering at all. Very likely to pick up a six pack of this the next time I see it.
