punkrkr27 (606), Berkley, Michigan, USA Apr 25, 2008 Clear orange-gold pour with a small white head. Earthy malt aroma with slight notes of orange and lemon. There’s also some pepper and pine scents in there too. Floral hop flavor with a hearty dose chewy malt and a dry, peppery pine finish. Medium body. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with a small foamy white head. Aroma of bread, caramel, fruit, slight rye on warming and something that was odd that I couldn’t put my finger on...soap, wax, plastic. Whatever it was it wasn’t rye. Nice medium/full body with strong carbonation, palate was so full that it was almost chewy. flavor of toast, bread, rye and some underlying grapefruit hops. What’s up with all the turtles on the Terrapin labels anyway?? MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Apr 24, 2008 Bottle from Dehmela, thanks Dave! Sparkling clear amber topped with a thin white lining. The aromas are spicy rye and floral hops with bread crust and caramel. This is a full on hop attack in the mouth and I like it. Spicy, floral hops with sweet malts alongside vanilla, rye bread, and sugared grains. This is dry, chalky, and creamy all at the same time. I wish I could get this all the time. Thanks so much Dave ,for the bottle! jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA Apr 20, 2008 12oz bottle, this one is very rye flavored, almost more than the rye squared, this really threw around the rye flavor, and i loved it, it tasted awesome... hops and rye what more could i ask for..... delicious. thanks for the chance to try it. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Apr 14, 2008 Bright orangey amber color with a medium rocky head. Aroma of earthy grassy citric hops, and a grainy bready spicy malt and rye, in nearly equal portions. Flavor seems to mostly feature the citric cascades, malt is somewhat chewy and sticky with the spicy breadiness of the rye. Clean finish has a fair whack of bitterness. On the whole fairly balanced. Distinctly potable. Dogbrick (2813), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 10, 2008 Bottle from Smoke Rise Bottle Shop in Stone Mountain, GA. The beer pours a mostly clear copper/amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Floral hops, malt and rye in the nose. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with hops, grapefruit and rye flavors along with some bready malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with lingering floral notes, plus some rye and malt aftertaste. Pretty solid all around. shackinetics (132), Florida, USA Apr 8, 2008 Updated: May 22, 2008part of the PA flight at the Abbey in Deland. Pours a orange/red/amber with medium off white head. Citrus hops aroma - similar pine/citrus flavor but with a malty finish - more dark roasted malts than most any pale ale. very nice. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Apr 7, 2008 Pours a golden orange color with a small off white head. Aroma is of citrus and hops. Pine flavor up front gives way to citrus and a mild sweet maltiness. Rather nice
