Perm (151), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Feb 9, 2008 On tap at the Purple Onion, Saluda NC.
Nice draught...not too spectacular in the aroma department (but not bad either). Great with a Mediterranean platter (baba ghanouj, hummous, tabouleh, olives...). The wee bit o’ rye does clean the palate and leave you thirsting for more. I’m getting good at this identifying beer thing -- I had a hunch that it was dry-hopped (VERY floral on the tongue), and sure enough, it is! Sassenheim (1), Aurora, Ohio, USA does not count Feb 6, 2008 First Rye Beer. Nice aroma. Very little head retention. Slighty sweet start with a bitter dry finish. Not bad, will have again in the future. Found at Wal-Mart in Pell City, AL. Very surprised to find a "craft" beer. No other ale to be found...anywhere. irishpenguin13 (27), Leesburg, Florida, USA Feb 6, 2008 nice floral/ spicy hop aroma and flavor. has little head retention. finish is average lasting with bitter hops on the palate. pretty ok beer. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Feb 4, 2008 Memories. Atlanta. Not too interested in local beers. I get the Rye Pale Ale. Nice. Hops. APA? Almost IPA. Worth revisiting... ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA Jan 31, 2008 on tap @ mellowmushroom orlando. nice golden color, very little head. slight fruit, maybe apricot aroma. went great with the pizza i had. not too bitter either. nice underlining of fruit in the flavor to match the slight bitterness. greenleaf (90), Florida, USA Jan 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours golden orange with a small white head. Noticable carbonation. Smells very strong of rye malt with a background of hops. Taste initially starts with a flood of floral hops which then turns to all rye, and rather dry in the mouth. A nice pale ale especially considering it uses a very underused grain in brewing. ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Jan 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a decent sized white head. Aroma is grapefruit, light orange, caramel. Flavor is caramel, floral hops, orange, grapefruit. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finishes bitter. So-so. urbnhautebourg (972), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Jan 14, 2008 This is a very pleasant beer which put me in mind of DFH 60 Minute--a lot of the same hop character and similar malt-to-hops balance. Though it was a bit lighter than that. Very nice, and rather than "extreme" (as I see in the Commercial Description), I would tag it "subtle" and charming.
